Refugees
The Kusari assault on Stokes Mining Station and the imminent threat to Planet Leeds, along with the constant violence in Tau-31 has caused many citizens of Planet Leeds and Planet Harris to become refugees. Planet Leeds and Holman Outpost are the main departure points for people fleeing the conflict. Transport pilots are required by both the Bretonian and Kusari governments to purchase substantial insurance bonds on behalf of the refugees, making their transportation a significant financial investment. Numerous industrial operations throughout Sirius have capitalized on their desperation and offered substantial bonuses to pilots who bring them desperate people who are willing to exchange cheap labor for housing and relative safety. A distant Zoner Freeport has also promised to help resettle many refugees.
