Li p grp.png Liberty Police, Inc. (LPI) Read More...
Liberty Police, Inc. (LPI) is a private company that handles the policing of Liberty space to interdict the importation of contraband and to prevent attacks on civilian and commercial traffic. Interstellar human rights organisations have long criticised the Republic for their reliance on private policing, citing the massive incarceration numbers and booming crime rates in Liberty as arguments against LPI's efficacy. The company, however, argues that these facts only justify further contracts with the organisation, as Liberty's needs for policing grow ever larger.

The Lane Hackers are a criminal group with the technical expertise to monitor and disrupt Trade Lanes for the purpose of seizing valuable cargo. Many of the founding members of the Lane Hackers were former technicians and experts within Ageira, Interspace, and DSE, and this intimate knowledge of Liberty's high-tech corporations combined with an uncanny technical prowess have secured Lane Hackers as one of the most effective and efficient criminal organizations in Sirius.
Fc lr grp.png Liberty Rogues Read More...
Rogues are a motley assortment of petty criminals who operate mainly in Liberty, attacking targets of opportunity and fencing illegal goods. By far their largest working arrangement is with the Outcasts, smuggling their Cardamine deep into the core of Liberty. Competition over the drug has swallowed up entire gangs, and shortages following the Maltese slave revolt all but collapsed the long-standing alliance between the Lane Hackers and Liberty Rogues.
Fc x grp.png Xenos Read More...
The Xenos are a Libertonian isolationist terrorist organization opposed to any trade or interaction with foreign entities. For many years, Liberty Police Inc. effectively suppressed Xeno activity, with many Xeno pilots either killed or captured. These crackdowns have largely backfired however, as the Xenos increasingly recruit huge numbers of new members from the prison system. Growing isolationist sentiments, foreign wars with Rheinland and Gallia, and the overbearing brutality of the LPI have driven a massive surge in Xeno activity.

Br n grp.png Bretonia Armed Forces Read More...
The Bretonia Armed Forces has a long history of serving as the first and last line of defense for the great nation of Bretonia, a history that is now written in the scars of an extremely vicious war with Gallia. Br p grp.png Bretonia Police Read More...
Officers in the Bretonia Police Authority are well-trained, well-armed, and widely considered to be a bastion of incorruptibility. They are also spread few and far between. Many were directly conscripted into the Armed Forces during the wars with Kusari and Gallia, those left behind were faced with Corsair incursions and a resurgent Molly uprising. The shaky stability of post-war Bretonia has improved recruitment numbers somewhat, although they still fall well short of their pre-war numbers, in a House that needs them more than ever.

Corporation

Co be grp.png Border World Exports Read More...
Border World Exports is a pioneer in the exploration of the Border Worlds, and the preferred supplier of the Bretonian government. The bulk of their contracts are the result of a direct partnership with Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing, providing shipping of their raw materials and finished goods at an extremely competitive rate. They maintain a tense corporate rivalry with the independent underdog Gateway Shipping, who often competes with Bowex in vain for Crown shipping contracts.
Br m grp.png Bretonia Mining & Manufacturing (BMM) Read More...
Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) is one of the largest commercial concerns in Bretonia, a network of semi-autonomous operations that range throughout Bretonian space. Alongside Bowex, they form an industrial partnership and conglomerate that curries the lion's share of government contracts and favor. Their particularly poor working conditions in Dublin and beyond led to the establishment of the Molly movement, a thorn in Bretonia's side to the present day, and the Independent Miners' Guild, the largest non-aligned mining organization in Sirius and one of BMM's chief competitors.
Co nws grp.png Gateway Shipping (GS) Read More...
Gateway Shipping is a young Bretonian firm that hauls raw materials across the Border and Independent Worlds, catering chiefly to smaller, independent companies. The Gaians are a radical environmentalist group opposed to terraforming and uncontrolled industrialization. Due to the ecological issues plaguing Bretonia, the Gaians enjoyed considerable support from Cambridge academics and environmentally conscious individuals across New London and Leeds. The successive catastrophes of the Tau and Gallic Wars further complicated the Gaians' difficult relationship with Bretonia, with some denouncing them as traitors for their shifting alliances. In the aftermath of these wars, public sentiment remains mixed; while the Gaian cause is popular, many lingering resentments about the movement's conduct remain.
Fc m grp.png Mollys Read More...

Rh p grp.png Rheinland Federal Police (RFP) Read More...
The Rheinland Federal Police (RFP) are the federated police forces of Rheinland, providing security and law enforcement to their respective systems. While nominally organized as a national police agency, the chaotic collapse of national command during the civil war showed that the officers of the RFP are ultimately loyal to their home system and the orders of their system's governor.
Rh n grp.png Rheinland Military Read More...
The Rheinland Military was once a proud military force steeped in tradition, simmering with a desire to prove itself after the Eighty Years War. That chance came and went with the Colony Wars, leaving the Military stripped of most of its experienced officers by MND investigations post-invasion. Those that filled the resulting power vacuum still rely on promises of grandeur and callbacks to a traditional Rheinland, sentiments that eventually supported the Imperial coup they then instigated.

Co alg grp.png ALG Waste Disposal Read More...
ALG Waste Disposal is an industrial company originating in Rheinland that specialises in the disposal and reprocessing of hazardous industrial waste into Alloys and MOX. Co khc grp.png Daumann Heavy Construction Read More...
Daumann Heavy Construction is the largest mining and manufacturing firm in Rheinland, and key partners with Imperial Shipping. Daumann provides the majority of ships and finished materiel for the Rheinland government, having secured their market share in the manufacturing sector due to ALG's sudden departure. A greater focus on construction has allowed long-time rivals Kruger to make up the difference, though competition remains fierce over Rheinland's remaining raw resources.
Co rs grp.png Imperial Shipping Read More...
Imperial Shipping is the premier shipping corporation in Rheinland, responsible for the vast majority of all domestic cargo transport within the Empire's borders. While also historically involved in many shipbuilding enterprises both civilian and military, in recent years Imperial's shipbuilding section has struggled to compete with foreign firms offering lower prices and larger volumes of product.
Rh m grp.png Kruger Minerals Read More...
Kruger Minerals is a Rheinland mining and materials corporation. Originally partnered with ALG before the Nomad War, failing prospects and an acquisition by the successful waste disposal firm seemed inevitable, though the deal never quite fell into place. The departure of ALG in the aftermath of the civil war has given Kruger room to breathe, as Daumann focuses on seizing the monopoly on manufacturing and shipbuilding.

The Bundschuh are a radical reformist political organization declared an enemy of the state by the Rheinland government. A loosely organized confederation of dissident tendencies ranging from progressive to far-leftist, it has substantial support from Rheinland's underclasses and intelligensia alike. Fc lwb grp.png Landwirtrechtbewegung (LWB) Read More...
The LWB, or Landwirtrechtbewegung (Farmers' Rights Movement), is engaged in attacks on Synth Foods to expel the Liberty Food conglomerate from Stuttgart. After falling apart to in-fighting, the remnants were absorbed by the Farmer's Alliance. The rejuvenated LWB later violently broke away from the Alliance commanders who treated them like disposable pawns.
Fc rh grp.png Red Hessians Read More...
By far the largest criminal group in Rheinland, the Red Hessians are comprised of unemployed miners who conduct attacks on all forms of civil and commercial shipping. While ostensibly formed as a radical political movement fighting against the harsh working practices of Daumann and Kruger, in modern times most Hessians are little more than opportunistic pirates, savaging mineral transports purely for the payout. Their desire for domination of Rheinland space and the Omegas has brought them into conflict with the Corsairs, resulting in one of the bloodiest ongoing conflicts in Sirius' history.
Fc u grp.png Unioners Read More...
The Unioners are an outlaw group chiefly comprised of former Rheinland shipyard workers, operating as smugglers and shipbuilders-for-hire on the border between Rheinland and Liberty. While formed as something of a revolutionary group targeting Republican Shipping, the growth of smuggling partnerships with the Rogues and Corsairs tempered much of the movement's political fervor, and by the time the Rheinland Civil War had come to a close, most simply chose to continue on as pirates rather than abide by the peace treaty's terms.

Lawful

Ku n grp.png Kusari Naval Forces Read More...
The Kusari Naval Forces are the highly organized and technologically advanced military elements of the Empire of Kusari. No Image Found Kusari Office of Intelligence Read More...
The Kusari Office of Intelligence operates as an independent bureau of the Empire, performing clandestine operations in regions predominantly beyond the reach of the Naval Forces. Ku p grp.png Kusari State Police Read More...
The Kusari State Police is a disciplined force of career personnel assigned to guard the borders of Kusari space and protect Kusari commercial interests. While many foreign firms and private citizens have complained over preferential treatment or outright xenophobia, the KSP maintains that their enhanced screening techniques are necessary due to the rise in piracy and smuggling abroad.

Co kt grp.png Kishiro Technologies Read More...
Kishiro Technologies is one of the great Kusari keiretsu -- sprawling, vertically integrated companies that control whole industries. Co shi grp.png Samura Industries Read More...
Samura Industries is one of the great Kusari keiretsu -- sprawling, vertically integrated companies that control whole industries. Their reach within the Kusari market spans from raw materials and rice crops to elegant first-class spacecraft and decadent monuments to Kusari power. A company rooted above all else in the tradition and history of the Kusari Empire, Samura goes to great lengths to maintain both their market share and their political standing, often employing the Hogosha syndicates to handle their dirty work from the shadows.

Quasi-legal

Fc h grp.png Hogosha Read More...
The Hogosha are a quasi-legal organization that ostensibly exists to promote the "welfare and prosperity of the Kusari people." With influential agents inside Samura, Kishiro, and even in the halls of Kusari government, the Hogosha syndicates are a powerful conservative force in modern Kusari society. The organization is heavily invested in the Artifact trade, and as a result draws ire from those in Kusari who seek to change the status quo, or simply oppose the Corsairs.

Criminal

Fc bd grp.png Blood Dragons Read More...
The Blood Dragons are a terrorist organization supposedly descended from the royal guard of Shogun Hideyoshi -- deposed during a coup several centuries before -- and are dedicated to the overthrow of the current Kusari government, and the destruction of Samura Industries. Fc fa grp.png Farmers Alliance Read More...
The Farmers Alliance was originally a Kusari political organisation that lobbied and fought for farmers rights, before turning to more direct action against their principal enemy, Synth Foods. While originally championed by Samura, their overt attacks on foreign shipping have left them officially branded as terrorists. Despite this, Samura continues to support the organisation through their ties with the Hogosha, often using them as mercenaries in return for logistical support.
Fc gc grp.png Golden Chrysanthemums Read More...
The Golden Chrysanthemums are a terrorist organization seeking to overthrow the Kusari government and institute a matriarchy. To that end they have forged alliances with the Blood Dragons - who also wish to upend Kusari society - and the Outcasts, who obviously oppose the Corsair influence in Kusari. Their Maltese connection has also brought them into a working relationship with the Lane Hackers, as they peddle Cardamine through Kusari into Liberty.

Gallia

Lawful

Ga p grp.png Gallic Gendarmerie Read More...
The Gallic Gendarmerie was one of the first agencies formed by the new Confederal government during the first Parisian Assembly. The Gendarmes were tasked with assuming the intended role of the now defunct Royal Police. Although the Gendarmerie occupies nearly all of their predecessors stations and posts, disproportionately few Gendarmes are former officers of the Royal Police. The Gendarmerie have been overwhelmed with new recruits, largely civil servants with no previous combat experience, and have suffered from a lack of funding as Gallia has entered its era of reconstruction. Because of this, the Gendarmerie suffer greatly from poor training and outdated equipment, especially in Minarchy space, where the prevailing attitude towards the notion of law enforcement is blasé at best.
No Image Found Gallic National Intelligence (GNI) Read More...

Ga n grp.png Gallic Navy Read More...
The Gallic Navy represents the bulk of Gallia's remaining military and police forces, organised under one banner. In many ways the conglomerated navy represents the Union it now serves, an eclectic mix of former Royalist and Confederal officers joining with ex-Council and Burgundian warlords, all serving as an iron fist with which to hold Gallia together.

Ga gms grp.png Gallic Metal Service Read More...
The Gallic Metal Service was established c. 300 AGS with the merger of several disparate Gallic mining conglomerates. Quickly growing alongside the Crown's ever-widening demand for raw resources, GMS followed in the wake of its fellow megacorporations and acquired the majority of its rivals over the next few centuries. Currently, GMS holds a near-total monopoly on the Gallic mining industry, from planetside excavation to deep space prospecting, as well as an ever-growing share of domestic shipping, directly cutting into IDF's market share. The corporation is famous for their extensive benefits packages and high salaries for their workers, affording them a great deal of favor - and company loyalty.
Ga idf grp.png Ile-de-France Shipping Read More...
Ile-de-France Shipping was founded in 501 AGS during the First Gallic War, answering the Crown's need for a corporation willing to undertake risky wartime logistics. The favor they curried with the Crown allowed IDF to become the leading shipping corporation in Gallic space, accounting for the majority of the civilian transportation market. The aftermath of the Gallic invasion left them targeted by anti-Royalist politicians, while independent shipping companies rushed in to take advantage of newly opened trade. The Kusari occupation of La Charite further harmed their bottom line, and a desperate board of directors have now turned to supplying the remains of the Royal Navy in the hopes of sparking a Royalist resurgence before the entire company collapses.

Fc brigands grp.png Gallic Brigands Read More...
The Gallic Brigands are a large, loosely affiliated union of space pirates, first appearing in the late third century AGS. Born out of the heavily stratified societies of Amiens and Marne, various Brigand groups began to take hold as fiercely independent, self-styled highwaymen who took from the rich and gave to the poor. In reality, most are little more than common criminals, engaging in smuggling, theft, and open piracy. The influx of foreign traders and general instability of the Union has lead to a massive increase in Brigand membership and activity, something that is not expected to slow anytime soon.
No Image Found Gallic Royalists Read More...
The Gallic Royalists are a splinter group of fanatical monarchists who fled to the Taus after their defeat at the hands of the Council, Liberty, and Bretonia. Unwilling to accept the outcome of their failed invasion, the dwindling remains of the once-proud Royal Navy has set itself the lofty goal of reinstituting an absolute monarchy.
Fc maquis grp.png The Maquis Read More...
The Maquis are terrorists dedicated to the complete eradication of Gallic nobility. Beginning as disillusioned offshoots from the Council, the Maquis quickly earned a vicious reputation conducting a series of assassinations and bombings in return for the Council's continued logistical and technological support. When the Second Gallic War drew to a close, however, the Maquis found themselves blindsided and outraged as the Council confederated Gallia, offering legitimacy to the royalist holdouts in Burgundy and pardoning most of the nobility. Refusing to bend to their former compatriots, the Maquis ignored calls to surrender, leading to the Massacre of Mazagran in late 826 AS. While now stripped of the logistical backing of the Council, popular support of the Maquis movement has boomed, especially among a growing anti-royalist population.

Hispania

Fc c grp.png Corsairs Read More...
Considered by many to be the largest criminal organization in Sirius, the Corsairs inherit one half of the legacy of the Sleeper Ship Hispania. They have developed into a quasi-nation of raiders and pirates, targeting civilian and military targets with reckless abandon as they plunder the border worlds. While they spar with their Outcast brethren over territory and historic grievances, their bloodiest conflict to-date has been that with the Red Hessians, as neither side dares to give up ground in the resource-rich Omegas.
Fc ou grp.png Outcasts Read More...
The enigmatic Outcasts are the principal producers and suppliers of the drug Cardamine throughout the Sirius sector. This substance, cultivated on their home planet of Malta from the razor-sharp blades of orange grass, fundamentally alters the genetic makeup of its users. This alteration ensures a permanent dependency on the Outcasts' benevolence, as they themselves have long since transformed into something post-human. Separated from their Corsair brethren by remaining on the Hispania rather than settling on Crete, they now find themselves clashing routinely in the Sigma and Omicron sectors. Ultimately the Outcasts view their Corsair counterparts as a mere obstacle in the way of their overarching ambition: to dominate the entire Sirius sector through the Cardamine trade, and the resulting endless supply of credits its users provide.

They are frequently hired by house corporations and governments alike to aid in the protection of trade routes or to take on wanted criminals in search-and-destroy missions. Bounty Hunters are particularly reviled by criminals because some of them were once pirates themselves. As a result, many Hunters know of the various Jump Hole routes and employ that knowledge in their assignments.
Gd gm grp.png Gas Miners Guild (GMG) Read More...
The Gas Miners Guild (GMG) is a tight-knit professional organization that acts as the primary supplier of H-Fuel to the four major Houses of Sirius. Gd im grp.png Independent Miners Guild (IMG) Read More...
The Independent Miners Guild (IMG) is a loose confederation of miners who work in the undeveloped border worlds, staking claims and harvesting deposits far from the reach of the larger corporations. Originally made up of disaffected BMM gold miners, their numbers quickly swelled with former employees of most of the mining concerns in Sirius, eventually making the IMG one of the largest unaffiliated mining organizations in existence. Despite this, their claim to particular fields is usually ignored by corporations muscling their way in for a slice of the pie, leading to all sorts of underhanded conflicts throughout the border worlds the Guild calls home.

Bristol Constructions and Manufacturing specializes in station construction, salvaging and mining operations. They operate within the Independent Worlds and are not affiliated with or chartered under any of the Houses, often competing with Junkers for salvage and scrap in treacherous, war-torn space. Their construction services are often offered to those unable to hire House Corporations - which often means their customers tend to operate outside the law's reach.
No Image Found Freelancers Read More...
Freelancers don't belong to any particular faction. They work for themselves, seeking new worlds and systems, glory and fame, money, or just trying to survive in a universe full of dangers. The Crayter Republic was formed from the remains of an experimental sleeper ship program, launched prior to the Alliance-Coalition War. Forced to abandon their initially colonized worlds due to a natural disaster, the Crayterians evacuated in a ragtag fleet that eventually arrived in Sirius. Briefly settling in Tau-44, the arrival of the Kingdom of Gallia forced their evacuation yet again, this time settling permanently in the Coronado system. Now an independent polity straddling the space between Liberty and Bretonia, the Crayterians work to rebuild and prosper, never forgetting those they left behind.

The Coalition as the Sirius Sector knows it sprang into life some time into the early 600s AS, formed by a motley band of ex-Corsairs, Rheinland dissidents and unaligned sympathizers. Claiming to be the descendants of Sol Coalition saboteurs that disabled the Hispania, they have managed to create a facsimile of their ancestors' home deep in the Omegas. Though most see the Coalition as a backwards, authoritarian state of outlaws, they nevertheless enjoy support from a growing number of disgruntled citizens across the sector as they begin to bring their own form of order to the borderworlds.
No Image Found The Core Read More...
The Core is a private military company operating mainly within the Edge Worlds, relentlessly searching for alien artifacts and technology. The Core began its search with a bloody war involving The Order, Hessians, and Corsairs to gain passage to remote Nomad systems, becoming a dominant force in the Omicron and Omega sectors as a result. House militaries routinely offer contracts to the Core for 'external security', which in reality involves the acquisition of alien materiel on their behalf.
Fc or grp.png The Order Read More...
The Order is a powerful covert organization active in the Omicron systems, perhaps best known for their important role in the Nomad War. Shortly after the Nomads' supposed defeat, the Order found themselves torn between preparing for their potential return, and policing those who would pilfer unknown alien technology in their absence. The re-emergence of the Nomads and destruction of the Order's stronghold on Toledo has left the organisation significantly weakened, though they continue to oppose The Core openly, while working to prevent another Nomad invasion from the shadows.

The Vagrants are Nomads that were pulled into the Hypergate at the end of the Nomad War. Having spent the better part of three decades in another galaxy, they eventually developed a method of hyperspace travel to return an expeditionary force to Sirius. Their absence, however, has left them ill-adapted to humanity's technological renaissance, and the biological changes they endured whilst separated from the Nomads of Sirius have left them unable to connect with the Sirius mindshare, ostracizing them from their own kin.
Fc wild.png Wild Read More...
Products of Nomad influence and infestation, the so-called "Wild" are Nomad-controlled puppets, infiltrators, and saboteurs. Infiltration and subterfuge is their primary modus operandi, as was nearly brought to realization with the Nomad War and the corruption of the Rheinland state apparatus all the way to the Chancellor. Three decades onward, the rebirth of the Wild has brought with it a shift in tactics - though their agents still tirelessly look for cracks in the Houses' vigilance, many cells of Nomad infectees outright assault and ravage the border worlds, either in false-flag attacks or overtly identifying as Nomad thralls. Of course, tales from beyond the border are little more than folklore to the people of civilized Sirius... but the number of stories seems to grow every day.
