Rheinland GR66 "Feldgeist" Missile Launcher

The Feldgeist has its origins in a proposed upgrade to the Rheinwehr's antimatter cannons. While technically sound, trial runs in both holosims and live-fire exercises showed that its plasma-based projectiles underperformed against heavily-armored targets to such a degree that not even homing features could compensate for the loss of sheer destructive force. The outbreak of the Imperialist-launched civil war prevented any kind of further testing, until the blueprints and licensing were sold off for pittances by the reunited but now nigh-bankrupt Wehr to whatever manufacturers wanted to buy them. This gave the GR66 dozens of "second chances"; eventually, Kruger and ALG both simultaneously realized its true utility for escort craft and heavy interceptors. The conflicting political leanings of the corporations, who supported opposite sides of the civil war, means that it ended up deployed by both the very same Military that designed it as well as a number of outspoken "activists".
