When Republican Shipping returned refreshed and with "new" goals, one of the first objectives on the list was to build their new HQ in a more central location.
After weeks of meetings and trying to convince the Modular Base Authority, it was decided to have the new station positioned in New Berlin around 10k from the trade lane intersection by Dortmund Station and Essen Station.
It wasn't the ideal spot, but it was the best at such short notice. When construction began in 826 A.S., it moved along very quickly just to get it up and running in order to accommodate their future plans.
With Ingolstadt Station being identified to be dismantled due to the dark matter storm, RS needed Duisburg to be an effective HQ. It was a strategic move due to the storm in Munich and the ongoing war with GMG and Kusari.
Once Duisburg was operational, staff was then moved from Ingolstadt Station to Duisburg and other RS stations until such time that Duisburg could handle the full staff capacity. Months passed before it was upgraded to Core 2 and preparing for Core 3.
While at Core 2, the basic functions were possible at Duisburg. It could hold half the staff compliment of Ingolstadt Station with minor facilities. Daumann Heavy Construction was contacted to design and plan the future of Duisburg, to become an iconic structure in New Berlin, grand in scale like its counterpart Alster Shipyard in Hamburg.
Niklas Mayer contacted Erwin Mannlicher CEO of DHC to have a meeting about how he envisioned Duisburg. They talked about how grand it should be, what facilities it should have, and where they could improve on. Niklas wanted this final design to be the last addition to Duisburg, to show Sirius that Republican Shipping, Rheinland was a force to be reckoned with. Anything you can do, they could do better and bigger. Not only will this project be good for RS, but also help Rheinland economically by establishing Duisburg not only as HQ, but a central trading center for Rheinland. Its influence is expected to stretch from Dublin in Bretonia all the way to Omicron Delta and even possibly to Kusari space. Promoting the routes from Kusari to Bretonia, rather than through Liberty.

Entertainment
There isn’t much entertainment here at Duisburg besides the Bar, fast food stall, and observation deck. But some of the pilots have set up a small gathering of regulars to place bets between Hessians, Unioners and Rheinland Military, Rheinland Federal Police. This happens just outside of Duisburg, but the bigger fights happen by Dortmund Station which can still be observable.
Facilities
Duisburg has a small Research & Development section with in the station which is currently being upgraded and expanded. Projects are being outsourced to personnel not working for Republican Shipping, on a prearrangement. For more information please contact RS Executive Board for further details.
Currently Duisburg has space to house around 100k of storage space.
Operating Systems
Duisburg is maintained by an AI system, named Agatha – BSAI-77 implemented by Niklas Mayer. It monitors the Stations maintenance programs and keeps track of all vessels unloading or picking up from Duisburg. The AI system has full direct control of all Modular Bases owned by Republican Shipping, and has limited control of the older Republican Shipping Stations such as Freiburg
