My conclusion: A well handled Oder can be a real nightmare. Its lack of agility might be a problem when fighting other gunboats and reaches its limits when it comes to clashes with light gunboats. In this case, the "hit and run" tactic is the best option you have. Due to its strong powercore, it could also need one turret slot more. I recommend to use heavy turrets instead of light ones. Somebody who knows how to use gunboats will definitely love this babe. With proper equipment and training, you will be able to take out almost everything. I've already been ganked by swarms of snubs many times, but could always rip apart some of my opponents in a surprise turn, especially when they flew directly into my arcs - A huge mistake. Hopeless situations often took a surprising turn from one moment to another.
Important is, you realize the Oder's limits and capabilities and adapt your weapon setup accordingly. The Oder's powercore is strong enough to fire three razors at once. Personally i prefer gunboats equipped with long-range weapons. To unfold its destructive force and make it capable to defy snubs and caps, i suggest to use a loadout of three cerberus, one pulse and two razor turrets. I can only recommend to make use of your forward gun. It is definitely worth the effort. Make sure you can fire pulse and razors forward and behind. Due to the Oder's relative flat shape, your loadout will be an huge advantage in combat. Your flanks however, are less effective and a vulnerable point which shouldn't be turned into enemy fire to often.
Don't use a pure cerberus loadout. Most people tend to do that. It might feel effective in single cases, but soon you will face groups consisting of several ship types which you have to deal with all at once. In that case you will regret your decision and look like a noob. The same applies to solaris turrets. Seriously, you don't need them on the Oder. Especially its suitability as long-range weapon makes it to a pretty cool toy. Timing is the key when useing the pulse/razors combo against snubs and patience when facing caps. It might take a while to disable a battleship, but it is possible.
