Initially tasked with the protection of trade routes in Pennsylvania, Battleship Gettysburg was tasked to cross the event horizon of the newly constructed Ageira Supergate in Alberta together with the Battleship Ottawa. Expecting its first real combat mission, the Gettysburg's captain has repeatedly debated with Navy brass over the possibility of the Gettysburg's crew not being able to perform as well as was necessary in what is projected to be the largest battle of the Gallic war, an objection which was not heeded.
After the Royal Navy's attack on Southampton Shipyard and the loss of the Battleship York, the Gettysburg and her battlegroup have taken up defensive positions in orbit of Planet New London to in preparation of the Gallic assault.
