Pirates are unaffiliated unlawfuls with little interest in sharing their profits. Usually regarded negatively by organized crime groups due to their unwillingness to share their illicit gains, some pirates manage to find a suitable arrangement with their more organised bretheren.

Synopsis

Due to their selfish and often violent and temperamental nature's, Pirates are rarely tolerated on others bases, leaving them few places to hide from law-enforcement and rest between strikes. However, this has lead to several stations, who are less particular in who is allowed to dock, becoming safe havens for Pirates. This is commonly Freeports, run by Zoners, and a few other independent bases. Most pirates try not to upset their hosts too much- Zoners in particular are quite disapproving of their attacks on nearby shipping and civilians, leading some Pirates to try hide their activity, and only strike far away from their base, before slipping away from any pursuers, back to their safe haven of choice, leaving a trail of frustrated Police and Bounty Hunters behind.

Main ships of Independent Pirates

Independent Pirates will use just about any ship they can get their hands on and keep running, be they sourced from shady civilian dealerships, or taken from other unlawful groups, but if it can be used to blast traders and escape with some loot, there will be someone using it for piracy somewhere.
