In 820 A.S. the Battleship York played an instrumental role in delaying the Gallic spearhead as it advanced deeper into the Leeds system, this allowed Bretonian forces to disable the Jump Gates leading out of Leeds and blunting the Gallic invasion.
As one of the last ships to retreat through the New London jumpgate, the York escaped battle-scarred but still operational. The Battleship received repairs whilst holding position by the re-routed Newcastle jumpgate in the New London system, a station it would hold for the next fours years of the Gallic conflict.
However, by 824 A.S. the ever increasing frequency of Royal Navy strikes against the Southampton Shipyard forced the York to relocate in order to protect the strategically vital station. The battleship is now on a constant high alert for enemy incursions, as any damage to Southampton would cost precious time and resources that Bretonia cannot afford.
