Like Magellan it exists semi within [[The Barrier]] Nebula which conceals the tradelane heading towards the [[Manchester]] Jump Gate. The Trade Lane and Jump Gate to [[California]] is concealed by an independant ice cloud known as the Paloma Ice Cloud to the east end of the system. Cortez has been known as neutral grounds for all four houses to undergo political debates and formalities for hundreds of years due to the neutral-lawful nature of it's only [[Planet Curacao]]. Being run and owned by [[Orbital Spa & Cruise]] it brings alot of attention to the system with transports bringing tourists by the millions to it's shores each year.
