History
The first Gaians were not criminals, but simple, civilian scientists on Planet Cambridge in the Cambridge Research Institute. When the first rural meadows evolved, consuming the research areas of the Institute, some biologists who saw the far gone pollution and non-economical life of Bretonia decided to protect the last untouched areas of the Sirius space by force and weapons.
These radical scientists were the origin of the Gaians. Presently the Gaians are one of the largest criminal groups in Bretonian space. The organization has many sympathizers in the Cambridge Research Institute, and due to its alliance with the Corsairs, many young Bretonians who are scared of leaving their home space choose to fight with the Gaians for a better Bretonia.
The Gaians are a radical group, established as a grass roots organization opposed to altering of natural environment brought through Terraforming or uncontrolled industrialization. With ecological issues being fundamental for modern Bretonia, Gaian ideas gained considerable public support among intellectuals from Cambridge as well as the working class on Leeds. Despite rumors of cooperation between Gaian terrorist cells and the Kusari Naval Forces during the Tau Conflict, support for their goals continues. Drastic changes to the political map of Bretonia and surrounding space with the advance of Gallic Royal Navy has changed the Gaians allegiances. Gaians now spread their focus beyond Bretonia, allying themselves with unlawful groups who have grievances against corporations involved with terraforming, or dominance in agriculture across Sirius.
The Foghar Sect is a sub-group within the Gaian Movement formed slightly before the Siege of Leeds and its untimely demise, in the midst of the Gallic Invasion. Remaining with a radical cause, the sect mainly operates in the Bretonian-Liberty borderworlds, focused on Planetform and Orbital Spa & Cruise operations in the area.
Conviction
The Gaian Movement, backed by the Bretonian political party The Green Front, are often left-leaning outwardly with Gaianism viewpoints. This often sparks philosophical or holistic debates on humanity's role in the preservation and upkeep of planetary objects. All within the movement detest Terraforming due to the grevious impact it has had on Bretonian worlds, seen visibly on London and Leeds prior to the planetary cracking. Additionally, the majority of the Gaians point a finger towards BMM for the manufacture of terraforming gases and the corperation's push for strip mining operations on Planet Gaia and other planets.
The Foghar Sect deviates from baseline Gaianism towards Monistic and Pantheistic ideologies. A view of the Cosmos being a singular entity split into various superorganisms that need each other to function in balance. While understanding the validity of modern material requirements to support the space-faring human population, rampant exploitation often seen by corporations is despised. This often brings the Sect at odds with mining or manufacturing corporations. While already targetting Planetform, BMM, and Orbital Spa & Cruise, the resentment extends towards Liberty and Rheinland groups as well.
The sects viewpoint is often viewed as extremist even by the Gaian's position, causing distancing and funding issues. Operating out of Skye Base, the Foghar Sect only hosts a small percentage of the overall Gaian population.

- Waning of corporate gluttony and abuse of natural resources.
- Humanity's shift towards Monistic and Pantheistic views.
