Volker Koch - BDM Intelligence Officer

Volker Koch is an intelligence officer with passion. Because of his loyalty to Rheinland, he is highly regarded today.

He lives for his work, is very thoroughly and pursues his own goals which makes him unpredictable sometimes. However, he would never do anything that could hurt his vaterland.

His responsibilities include: Project management, counterespionage and the conduction of operations.

Childhood and Youth

He grew up with his four-years younger sister "Kathrin Koch" in the farm of his grandparents on Planet Stuttgart in the Pfalz region. His parents were busy with their jobs and too far away to take care of them. His father "Karl-Heinz Koch" was admiral of the Rheinwehr and constantly in use. His mother "Bettina Koch" (born "Zimmerman") was archaeologist at the museum of New Berlin. She was also constantly on expeditions.

Volker was always interested in chemistry and physics. With eight years he starts to explore pyrotechnics. By mistake he ignited one of his rockets in the equipment shed of his grandparents which went up in flames after seconds. Further experiments with Rubidium has caused the destruction of a ceramic bathtub and has left a three meter deep crater in the middle of a carrot field.

Admiral Karl-Heinz Koch (797 A.S.)

His grandparents decided to live on the country, due to the growing population density and air pollution in large cities. Volker's parents tried to visit him on the farm as often as possible, but they did not always had the opportunity. Only on birthdays or on holidays he had contact to his parents. But mostly they have sent him a video message over the com-channel.

In the year 799 A.S. his mother disappeared during a expedition in the omicron systems and was never seen again. As the loss wouldn't be big enough, a year later, his father died by a attack at the Tau-29 blockade during the Nomad War. The Admiral had the command of the Battleship Schiller and over the whole Rheinland operation in Leeds, Tau-31 and Tau-29.

Career

Training as Bundesagent (799 - 803 A.S.)

The Rheinwehr was his chance to a well-paid job with advancement opportunities. In this time Volker descovered his obsession for heavy plasma guns. In addition to his basic training he participates on tactical courses voluntarily. After four years he finishes his training with success. With the recommendation as tactical officer.

Thanks to his training Volker was able to complete his pilot's license at 17. From his wages he buys his first own space shuttle.

Career as Tactical Officer (803 - 810 A.S.)

After his training he obtains a position as tactical officer on the RNC-Neckar, an in Stuttgart stationed Rheinwehr cruiser. He was assigned to an team specialized for reconnaissance missions. Through his leadership he rises up in his career very quick. After seven years of service he finally gets for which he worked so hard to gain. He became the new cruiser commander on the Neckar.

Career as Cruiser Commander (810 - 816 A.S.)

In this time Volker became known for his skills as a commanding officer on the RNC-Neckar. Many things have been changed on this cruiser since he gets the command. The Neckar isn't a new ship. To be precise, it's since 802 A. S. in use. Many weapons and energy systems were outdated and the ship was not in a good condition. On Volkers instruction, the old lady were renovated.

The firepower of this cruiser became notorious after several operations against Red Hessians or at the front in Hamburg against Libertonian intruders.

The Rodgau Attack (813 A.S.)

In the year 813 A.S. his grandparents died by an attack on the farm. The entire farm was destroyed by fire. Further investigations showed plasma combustion which could only be triggered by weapons. Volker swears to take revenge on those who killed his grandparents. In a desperate act, he orders his navigation officer on the Neckar to take course on an known LWB base called Rodgau Outpost in Stuttgart. After arrival he ordered to fire at Rodgau. The LWB were surprised and could not react fast enough. After a few minutes the structural integrity failed and many people tried to leave the outpost by rescue capsules. The following explosion ripped over 300 persons into death. It is still unclear if anyone has survived the attack.

Career as Intelligence Officer (Since 818 A.S.)

By establishing new contacts, Volker receives access to the BDM and leaves his career as Rheinwehr cruiser commander on his beloved cruiser. With hard work and a lot of paperwork he manages, thanks to his brilliant career and an unblemished dossier, up to the management level and gets a command position. In the same year, he obtains the command over the brand new U-201. In addition he gets his own Büro at Schatten and becomes responsible for the lead of major projects on Schatten Shipyard Part 01.

Project Goliath

In the year 821 A.S. the Oberkommando has given green lights to Project Goliath supervised by Volker Koch.

Personality

Volker is known as a very patient, disciplined person. Even in difficult situations he retains a clear mind. His quiet style, to deal with things, makes him to a very sympathetic person. He is a friendly and helpful person. Also famous for his jokes about Libertonians.

Very rarely you see him smoking a cigarette and only on special occasions. He saw many things and participated in numerous secret military projects. Many people would kill for this informations which makes Volker to a popular target for terrorists. He is a proud and glowing patriot, a passionate nationalist and primarily interested in one thing... power.
