Template:TOC Faction Infobox The Volksfront is a Bundschuh player faction, dedicated to overthrowing the Rheinland government.

Synopsis

The Bundschuh are a populist political faction that has been declared "enemy of the state" by the Rheinland Reichstag. Attempts to gain amnesty from Chancellor Steller after the Nomad War have failed, and while many are still faithful to their political goals and ideas, others have turned away from the Bundschuh to piracy and terrorism as a desperate attempt to cause damage to the government.

A populist left-wing Rheinland political party, they are currently outlawed and seek to overthrow the corrupt regime of the “Gottkanzler.” Large amounts of the Rheinland population are sympathetic to the well-educated organization, and donations mean that the Bundschuh focus on political targets, rather than distasteful piracy. Recruiting members from mainstream society, as well as numerous pirate “organizations” the Bundschuh are a corps of ideologically motivated activists.

History

Formed after the Bundschuh were once again outlawed, the Volksfront are the armed forces of the Bundschuh party. Present at almost all operations of the party, they are the most visible members. The highest point in their history was the Nomad War when they assisted Edison trent in a raid on Rheinland's nomad shipyards. Since then they have continued to strike at the Rheinland government, increasing their operations to a level never seen before.

Objectives

The ultimate objective of the Bundschuh is to overthrow the current Rheinland Government and to institute a free democracy. It is the Volksfront's duty to fulfill this objective. To restore power to the people, and have all share in the glory of the Fatherland.

Zone of Operations

Frankfurt

Frankfurt is the location of Bruchsal Base the largest and first Bundschuh station. Home to numerous corporations as well as a large Rheinland Military contingent, Frankfurt is at the heart of the people's struggle.

Dresden

Dresden is the home of the Red Hessians. As the chief allies of the Bundschuh, convoys between the two factions are common, as well as joint forces to strike at the significant Daumann and Kruger investments in the area.

Stuttgart

Stuttgart is the location of the Landwirtrechtbewegung or LWB. Based off of Darmstadt Depot the LWB strike at the massive amounts of commercial traffic that travels through the system. As close friends, the Bundschuh and LWB will often work together.

Hamburg

On the front lines of the conflict between Rheinland and Liberty, Hamburg is a place of much activity for the Volksfront. On one side of the system is Vierlande Prison a large installation where many dissidents are held. On the other side is Wedel Mining Facility, an old station inhabited by Unioners. While the Bundschuh generally stay away from the Unioners, they will occasionally travel to Wedel to trade goods and information.

Munich

A system that the Bundschuh are new to, Munich is the home of the recently constructed Eltmann Outpost. Close to the Augsburg Orbital Colony Eltmann is a key waypoint for raids that strike at the elitist aristocrats who inhabit the station. Other than that, the Bundschuh have little activity.

Bremen

A sparse system between Liberty and Rheinland, Bremen is the home of Cloppenburg Base. Distant from any other allied outposts, the purpose of Cloppenburg is yet unknown. It is the newest base of the Bundschuh, and still quite small. The militaries of Rheinland and Liberty often clash, and the Volksfront will often partake, aiding the Rheinland Military.

Luneburg

A recently discovered system, Luneburg has provided the Bundshuh with a place of refuge. While little has been done of yet, a small depot has already been constructed, and with outside aid, the Bundschuh have drawn up ambitious plans. For now, little information is available.

New Berlin

The Beating heart of Rheinland, New Berlin is where the revolution will be lost or won. Home to innumerable strategic targets, raids by the Bundschuh are not at all uncommon, and they will often launch from nearby allied bases.
