Overview

HiTech Research is a private subsidiary founded at the middle of 819 A.S., in order to revive the evolution of the Ageira Technologies. Its main specialisation is research and development of parts for Trade Lane and Jump Gate Network, which completely revolutionised travels throughout the Sirius Sector, with many centuries ago. This company is involved also, in the manufacturing of the Havoc Mk II civilian bomber and development of medium sized arms, being focused to gain the trust on the market for these products.

History

1st Century
    In accordance with the chronological records of its history, Ageira Technologies was created in 44 A.S. initially under the name of Valhalla Research, with backing from the Liberty government, in order to research materials and to discover a way for the miniaturization of the same drive technology that was used by Alliance to power the great sleeper ships, in travel from the old Sol to Sirius. After five decades of studying, in 96 A.S., with the arrival of the LCC Einstein in Rheinland, was made possible the first real-time communication, through a series of Faster Than Light relay buoys and Valhalla's new "Valhalla drive technology," was exchanged for Rheinland's advanced information on construction technology.
2nd Century
    Ten years later, after the arrival of the LCC Edison in Bretonia, a new deal was made over the new communications link with the consent of the Liberty government and Bretonia exchanges it's advances in materials technology for the new engine designs. In 120 A.S. Valhalla Research invents the orbital Docking Ring, using advanced materials technology recently gained through trading of the "Valhalla drive technology". Using superstrong crystalline polymers and frictionless bearings, these docking rings have revolutioned the way through ships are launched from a planet into space. When are connected to orbital docking rings, these materials are used to create a "elevator" that almost completely negate the high costs of launch and landing, providing a controlled entry or exit through planet's atmosphere. This technology is licensed also to other houses, being considered a huge step for exploration and commercial exploitation of the systems from all main houses. After the success of the last project, in a secret meeting with the Order of Cincinnatus, the highest ranking board members of Valhalla Research planning the initiation of a new ambitious project. According with this plan, using the research that was made on Valhalla 1, the "Project Jump Gate" would be completed in fifty years. The idea it was to create a Jump Gate that could make it possible a extremely fast travel between two different systems, with amazing benefits in the humanity’s development, limited until then by the time necessary to perform this kind of travel.
    In 126 A.S., Valhalla Research announces building a major research facility in the Texas system and began to expand its operations in this system. Two years later, the construction of the Dallas Research Station is completed. This base was used in the research of "Project Jump Gate" but also in other secret projects, in collaboration with the Liberty Military. In 130 A.S. is recorded one of the most important events in all of human history: first test of a Jump Gate. Houston residents from the northern hemisphere have mentioned something about a bright flash, like a meteor streaking across the sky at exactly 15:34 HST and... nothing more. This flash was a small drone leaping across many light years of space, in the blink of an eye. But several weeks later, Valhalla Research received a telemetry signal from the drone, indicating that it is intact and survived in this the jump. Testing of this "Prototype Jump Gate" was a success and marked the dawning of a new age.
    Valhalla Research changes names to Ageira Technologies in 155 A.S. and after 20 years, is conducted the first full scale test of a jump gate, between Texan and Alaska and in 181 A.S., Universal Shipping signs a contract with Ageira Technologies for handling Jump Gate parts. The President of Liberty unveils the Jump Gate project to the public in 185 A.S. and immediately, the other houses of Sirius began to conduct business deals with Ageira to purchase its revolutionary technology. A deal was signed with Sirius Shipping to transport the Gate Parts between Ageira’s R&D labs and the construction projects being built by Deep Space Engineering. In 189 A.S. is opened the first official jump gate between Colorado and New York.
3rd Century
    In the following years construction would begin on more gates and in 207 A.S., the systems of New York and California would be connected. With most of Liberty connected with Jump Gates, Ageira Technologies began construction a Manufacturing Facility in Colorado. This facility is completed in 215 A.S and would be crucial in the mass production of jump gate components to meet the high demand. As mass production of the gates moves into high gear, funding becomes an issue for many foreign corporations and governments who wish to build routes of their own. Because of the capitalisation of the entire industry by Ageira Technologies and Deep Space Engineering, in 218 A.S. Interspace Commerce was formed to offer loans and assist in the financing of jump gate construction. Twenty years later Ageira Technologies headquarters is moved from Manhattan to Los Angeles.
    The year 280 A.S. has also an important significance in the history of the modern era because in this year, Ageira Technologies introduces something almost as miraculous as the jump gates revealed almost a century ago, their next advance in technology, using a variation of the jump gate architecture: Trade Lanes. The first trade lane was established through a joint venture between Monument Engineering and Valhalla Research.
4th to 5th Century
    By 350 A.S., most of Liberty space was crisscrossed by trade lanes, being used for superluminal travel within a system. Through financing from Interspace Commerce, the trade lane network was rapidly extended into the other colonies, helping to create a truly sector-wide economy. The demand for Gate parts began to shrink and the demand for Lane parts increased. Therefore, by 420 A.S., the Ageira Technologies facility in Colorado decreased its production of Jump Gate components and concentrated on producing Trade Lane components.
6th to 7th Century
    500 A.S. is known as year of the "Texas Incident". In this year was registered one of darkest moments from the humans history. The Ageira Technologies scientists aboard the Dallas Research Station, began the second phase of testing a new, long-range jump gate, in the hope that will discover a new way to travel in the entire galaxy, beyond the Sirius Sector, being a unique opportunity for the exploration of new places. Unfortunately, their attempt was a disaster. An unforeseen concentration of dark matter along the jump route created a feedback wave that expelled huge masses of dark matter and radioactivity, destroying the Dallas and everyone from aboard. A quarantine was immediately erected across half the system but the entire Texas system was decimated. The jump gate itself sank into a monstrous singularity that still hangs at the edge of the Texas. After this incident, Ageira Technologies stayed quiet until in 614 A.S., when was opened in New York, the Detroit Munitions Depot, in order to manufacture small and medium arms for Military and Police, but also for any other independent buyer.
8th to 9th Century
    In 700 A.S., Ageira Technology made an agreement with Interspace Commerce to become business partners in another project: the development of a "Real Time Scanner" which was designed to scan cargo ships that passing through the jump gates and trade lanes. By attaching a Universal Ship Identification number to every vessel and piece of cargo, goverments could automatically scan for contraband while Interspace Commerce could more accurately assess insurance fees. Ageira Technologies began producing this new scanner in Colorado but also, continued to gain profit from Gate and Lane parts. In 800 A.S. begin the Nomad War, a humanity's first series of encounters with the Slomon K'Hara and Ageira Technologies registers a surge in small and medium-sized arms purchases. As a note, Ageira Technologies has developed with significant Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing participation, an advanced modification of the "Havoc", a bomber model that was popular in Liberty and Bretonia about 350 years ago. Famous for its increased agility compared to other modern bombers, Havoc Mk II was initially planned to be produced only for Liberty Navy and Bretonia Armed Forces. But executives of the Ageira Technologies soon understood that this ship could make a lot of profit on alternative markets and today is offered as a Sirius Civilian Ship.
    From the ninth century, Ageira Technologies is still the leading company in research and development and remains the exclusively manufacturer of Jump Gate and Trade Lane Parts. These components are sealed in scanner-proof, tamper-proof white boxes that can only be opened with complex biometric keys. The boxes are also designed to detonate if opened outside of an authorized facility. Additional security measures are confidential, but Ageira Technologies has never failed to recover a missing white box. Also, with the exception of the Deep Space Engineering and Universal Shipping, Ageira Technologies is the only authorized company allowed by laws for delivery of these parts to individual construction sites, in all Sirius houses.
    Lately, due to some internal issues, Ageira Technologies has registered a decrease trend in its evolution and according with latest news, the former president Mr. Alexander Brown was replaced by Mr. Thaddeus Gideon, a long time administration representative veteran, previously employed by Deep Space Engineering. He is involved now in administration of a privately owned sub-division of the Ageira Technologies, AgTech, in an integral relationship with Deep Space Engineering. In the same time, at the middle of 819 A.S., a researcher named Richard Wilson, has founded a new company, Hitech Research, as a private subsidiary of Ageira Technologies, having as main goal to research and develop parts for Trade Lane and Jump Gate Network, successfully implemented with hundreds years ago by this corporation, in all Sirius sectors. As a first step, he appelead to Mr. Thaddeus Gideon in order to buy, from Ageira Technologies, a building on Planet Denver, for their offices. Also, Richard Wilson purchased a small company specialized in shipping services, Liberty Trade Shipping, and hired some of its employees in the logistics department of the Hitech Research, being focused to continue the research and development of high technology parts for the Trade Lane and Jump Gate Network and to gain the trust on the market for its products.
