Lorraine System

Lorraine is a system in the Gallic Border Worlds. After the Second Gallic War the system were cut of for a longer time, because behinde the main Jump Gate layed Champagne, the place where the revolution has started and the has became to the capital of the Gallic Republic. Later the GRN were able to isolate Champagne and connecting Burgundy and Lorraine directly by their former Champagne-Jump Gates.

This system is an important traffic system for the kingdom. It holds one of the two natural Jump Holes that link Gallia and Sirius. Behind that hole is Omicron Tau; a Maltese Core system. In 818 AS the Council attacks the mine field around that hold and created many mine free lines to the hole without passing the royal navy's border station strongholds. The Maltesian Navy did not need more time for that invitation and have broken throuth the hole and created Torino Base as a forward depot and stronghold that should be the key to new cardamine trading line to the gallic core worlds.

Also this system must be passed from all visitors of the Kingdom that come over Kusari. Beside that the system has no real economical value. There are no reasons to visit this system as traveller or trader. You will not find any facility or mining station here.

Areas of Interest

Nebulas

The Sarre Nebula

The Sarre Nebula (left) is particularly notorious as the rumoured base of operations for the Unione Corse in the system. Composed of mainly hydrogen and methane gas, it also contains the Sarre Asteroid Field.

The Toul Nebula

The Toul Nebula (right) is a beautiful celestial body that is often used as a hideout for the Maquis due to its hidden nature. Very few Royal Navy patrols pass through the region and it is not easily picked up by a ship's scanners, nor appears on their map in any great detail. Scanner interference may occur when passing through the Toul Nebula.

Asteroid Fields

The desolate and tightly packed asteroid fields of Longwy and Le Thillot provide perfect staging points for unlawful factions to maintain their attacks against the weakened Royal Navy. It is rumoured that the Maquis in particular stage many of their attacks from these regions.

Artificial Formations

Luneville Scrap Field

The Luneville Scrap Field surrounds the Luneville Guard Station, bordering Lorraine's mine field, it provided enough incentive for the Maltese to setup Torino Base in the vicinity.

The Lorraine Minefield.

The Lorraine's Minefield guards the jumphole to Omicron-Tau. Reports suggest that a passage exists that leads through the mine field safely that the Maltese have been using. In an effort to contain any would-be Sirian adventurers, the Luneville Guard Station keeps a watchful eye on the jump hole at all times.
