|description = Newcastle is a system controlled by [[Bretonia]], it houses the industrial might of Bretonia's Borderworlds Exports. The system generates a considerable amount of traffic due to the presence of the [[Lancaster Trade Center]], as well as various mining efforts by the IMG. Recently, [[Planet Carlisle]] has become the focus of a joint effort by [[Planetform, Inc.]] and the Cambridge Reaseach Institute to rid the planet of dangerous bacteria in order to pave the way for future colonization. This has made the Newcastle system the target of the [[Gaian]] terrorist group whom, in addition to the [[Mollies]] and the Outcasts, make up the majority of the unlawful forces within the system. Rumors also exist of a large extra-terrestrial complex on the outskirts of the system, although the [[Bretonia Armed Forces]] continues to assure people that such a complex does not exist, and any alien ruins that are found are to be avoided at all costs by civilians.

They broke out from the nearby barrier nebula and opened fire on Belfast's defence turrets, disabling them. While the battle between the [[Bretonia Police Authority|Bretonia Police]] and the Molly fighters raged outside, the Molly undercover agents onboard Belfast moved quickly. A large field of ice asteroids. Substantial Outcast activity in the field is well-known to traders going to and from Scarborough, and it is rumored that an Outcast base was built inside the largest asteroid in this field.

Belfast Debris Field

Belfast Production Facility was built by BMM 726 A.S. to refine for minerals mined on Planet Middlesbrough before shipping them out of system. The base suffered some casualties in the wake of the Founders Day Revolt, but unlike at Graves Station, the station security on Belfast was able to lock the station down and wait for the Bretonia Police Authority, and BMM stayed in control of the station.

Molly sentiments remained high among the Belfast workforce and the Middlesbrough miners for decades due to ongoing tight police presence on the station. In late 814, while BAF forces were concentrating on the Kusari Front in the Taus, the Mollies attacked the station with a force of improvised Gunboats and a large portion of their fighter craft. The Mollies quickly took control of the station and ejected the captured BMM executives from the top airlock. After seizing the station, the Mollies modified its facilities to produce an improvement on the improvised capital ships they had used to capture the base.

During the invasion of Bretonia by Gallia, the Mollies fortified the station and built a defensive minefield to defend the station from attacks. In late 825, having deemed that the Mollies would not be useful allies after the war was won, Gallia betrayed them. Considering Belfast as a liability in their future operations within the Newcastle theater, the GRI Battleship Embrun did what the Bretonian Government was incapable and unwilling to do, by ordering and deploying a long range strike with heavy load ordinance, completely bypassing the Mollys defenses and destroying the station and slaughtering its inhabitants without mercy. In a hopeless and useless last act of defiance, the Mollys activated the detonation of the mine field that caused no damage to the Embrun and its cohort.
