Freistadt Base
|
- The bases in this system require us to dispose of their hazardous waste. Unlike most other systems, there is no sun here, so waste can't be shot into the stellar gravity well. Mining and refining operations require massive amounts of power, too. We supply the bases with MOX and return the spent fuel to Dortmund for reprocessing.
- The IMG mining station here supplies Dortmund with most of the raw materials we need to produce a variety of materials. Daumann and Kruger mostly supply the Ring. Our partnership with IMG allows us to get raw materials at a competetive price.
- The Hessians attack our transports like they do with all Rheinland companies, however, statistically ALG transports seem to get hit less often. I suspect these independent miners to have something to do with that. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. To be attacked by Hessians usually means you'll be spaced.

Wichter Station
|
- You might be wondering why there's so many combat ships and personnel stationed here. Well, when we lost Dortmund and Wuppertal in the civil war, this was our last holdout around Rheinland. So if Wichter had fallen, it would have been the end for ALG. Things are quieter now, the war's over, and we got Wuppertal back. But we're definitely not letting our guard down - you never know when the Unioners or the Corsairs decide to attack, and Rheinland sure isn't going to be sending ships this far out to assist us. We have to rely on ourselves out here.
- Wichter is ALG's headquarters. It wasn't planned that way, but management had to move here when we blew up Dortmund at the start of the civil war. So if things seem a little chaotic around here, that's why - the station had to be urgently expanded to hold more administrative offices, and also some of Dortmund's smelting equipment, the stuff we managed to save before we scuttled the place. It's been a few years now, but we're still catching up on re-organizing.
- This is primarily a ship-building station. We build mostly fighters and cargo ships for our own use and to sell commercially. Because we're so far from Rheinland's eyes, we can sell to some of the organizations that aren't welcome in the house, especially the Bundschuh. One design that we practically never sell outside the company though is the HWDU-430, the "Golem". It's a heavy transport specially designed for hazardous materials, and its design specifications are top secret. Don't bother asking for one if you aren't an employee.
- Not impressed by the food and drinks selection here, huh? That's the price you pay for building a secluded station away from the trade networks of the house. Our supply situation is a lot trickier out here, since not that many suppliers are willing to leave the lanes for a low-profit food or consumer goods run. We get most of our stuff from the Freeport, the Zoners are used to supplying off-the-grid places like this.
|
Bristol Bay Station
|
- I'm part of ALG's operation in the system, we mostly try to coordinate with Bristol in order to do proper cleanups when it comes to ship salvaging. There's plenty of work to be done, but it's not proving easy given how frequently we get roughed up by local thugs. I can see why Liberty locks these people up in Huntsville and throws away the key.

Planet New Berlin
|
- Unlike Republican and Daumann ships, ALG ships are not viewed by of Rheinland criminals as a threat. We've tried to take a less antagonistic approach in dealing with our current and former employees in the hope that we can avoid the poor labor relations that have plagued other Rheinland companies.
- We purchase our basic supplies and H-Fuel here for the Dortmund Smelter. Berlin needs Basic Alloys for the Consumer Goods factories, which we produce in our Scrap Metal recycling unit in Dortmund.
- ALG has cleaned up this system dramatically since the early Daumann days. They are still operating smelters using centuries-old technology. One visit to Leipzig will show you the harmful effects of Daumann's unregulated emissions of pollutants.
|
Oder Shipyard
|
- Daumann doesn't like us here, but they have no choice. We provide the shipyard with MOX, and haul away its Toxic Waste and Scrap Metal for reprocessing at our Dortmund furnaces.
- Our original mining areas in New Berlin have been exhausted for 300 years, and Bretonia has supplied all of Rheinland with its Basic Alloys and Ship Hull Panels ever since. We are proud to once again produce these manufactured goods in Rheinland at our Dortmund facility.
- ALG is in negotiations with the military to build a new shipyard near Dortmund to produce the next line of Rheinland battleships. Engineers recently demonstrated locally produced Super Alloys that met the stringent requirements set by the Bremen ship design team. Soon Rheinland will be free of importing that particular Commodity from Liberty.

Battleship Westfalen
|
- The structural integrity of this ship is suspect. It suffered a lot of damage during the Eighty Years War, but was forced to remain in service, since all of its sister ships are now Scrap Metal in the Sigma-13 system. We are always nervous when we have to enter the reactor compartments of this ship. Especially since the recent accident.
- Our most lucrative runs for MOX are into Colorado. One must first survive the Xenos in the Independent Worlds, however. The Rogues would also like to get their hands on bomb-making material -- especially the group found in Hudson.
- We deliver MOX to the Westfalen every few months or so. Berlin has been having difficulty making their payments since before the civil war. ALG would like to improve our relationship with the military, so we often waive the transport and installation fees.
|
Alster Shipyard
|
- Republican is completely dependent on ALG products to build their ships. They are competing for the new Rheinland Military contract, but lack the technical expertise to fabricate the custom hull materials and other sophisticated features required by the government.
- Republican believes it can solve the Unioner problem by posting bounties and throwing them all in prison. The reality of their situation is far more tenuous. We've heard from reliable sources that many of their current workers are Union sympathizers who are quietly plotting the eventual overthrow of Republican Management.
- We provide Republican with many of their essential shipbuilding materials, such as Ship-Hull Panels, Basic Alloys, and MOX from Dortmund. In return, they sell us their Scrap Metal and Toxic Waste from old ships that are being dismantled.

Planet Stuttgart
|
- Much of the money that we earn from selling Terraforming Gases to Synth Foods will be secretly funneled to the LWB. ALG's chairman is a large supporter of the displaced farmers of Stuttgart. Her own plantation has been growing blue jillies for centuries.
- We have contracts with Synth Foods to ship this planet Terraforming Gases. From Dortmund we bring the gases in and try not to think about what they will do to the lovely climate of Stuttgart.
- Since we are a corporation the bottom line is the most important thing to consider. Our board was hard pressed when it came time to decide on selling Terraforming Gases to Synth Foods. What they do now will affect the planet for thousands of years, and all they care about is breeding that sickly gray weed from which they mill their disgusting paste.
|
Mainz Storage Facility
|
- Though it requires the danger of flying into the Border Worlds, ALG ships Food to the Helgoland, beyond Rheinland space.
- ALG does a good business in Frankfurt. Terraforming Gases arrive at this base from Dortmund. They expect to receive supplies of Boron from here in return.
- This is a transit point between Dortmund in New Berlin and Yukawa in Honshu. Basic and High-Temperature Alloys plus Ship-Hull Panels pass through this base on their way into Kusari.

Battleship Altenburg
|
- The structural integrity of this ship is suspect. It suffered a lot of damage during the Eighty Years War, but was forced to remain in service, since all of its sister ships are now Scrap Metal in the Sigma-13 system. We are always nervous when we have to enter the reactor compartments of this ship. Especially since the recent accident.
- Our most lucrative runs for MOX are into Colorado. One must first survive the Xenos in the Independent Worlds, however. The Rogues would also like to get their hands on bomb-making material -- especially the group found in Hudson.

Wuppertal Refinery
|
- A bunch of Junkers took over this base shortly after we had to evacuate it. Leave it to those vultures to swoop in and profit from someone elses suffering. I swear I'm still finding grease stains and unwashed laundry all over the place.
- Rheinland knew about this system for a while now, but nobody ever thought about investigating Steinfurt's planetary rings for minerals before us. When our prospectors came back, they confirmed that this place was a proverbial gold mine. Of course, now that this station settled in for a bit, it's not all sunshine and strudel. The pirates moved in right with us, and police coverage is still scarce.
- You know those squatters over at the old Heisenberg station? Well, apparently they keep making contact with the Wuppertal COO periodically, reporting any new asteroids or comets that might be heading toward Steinfurt. Normally we don't pay much attention, the comet impacts only thrust more resources from the planet's surface into orbit. But I did hear from the chief engineer a few days back that the latest comet is apparently on a collision course with the refinery. He said they are going to hire someone to blow it up before it reaches us though.

Battleship Bayern
|
- Republican is competing with ALG to win the contract for constructing the next generation of Rheinland battleships. We have a clear advantage in ship design and practical construction experience. But they have a definite strength in alloys and specialized Hull Panel fabrication.
- Although it's not far to Hamburg from here, the Unioners will attack us if given the opportunity. Their preferred method is to disable a Trade Lane ring near the center of the stretch, then flee back into the Nordheide at the first sign of a military patrol.
- It's a quick trip from Hamburg. We run in supplies on a regular basis. Sometimes they can't pay us, but we usually can arrange something. Maybe four dead Unioners for a container of Pharmaceuticals.
