The original N01 Rheinland Bomber was crafted as an almost reflexive move on the part of the Rheinland Military to the disastrous losses of their assumingly immortal Capital Ship fleet at the hands of the Gas Miners Guild during the 80 year war. Pressed with the task of constructing a vessel capable of slipping past blockades to strike at vital supply depots and stations seemingly beyond the reach of the Chancellor's flag fleet. These early bombers were little more than cumbersome energy plants wrapped in armor, built in haste from the scavenged remains of Gunboats taken from assembly lines.
The modern "Snubnose" Rheinland bomber bears little resemblance to its predecessor. Ultra compact, sleek and possessing the height of Rheinland's renowned reactor technologies, the N58 is a testament to lessons learned and the murderous efficiency of the Chancellor's Military.

The "Bergelmir" snubnose bomber is one of the smallest bombers around, but doesn't handle top-notch, but it's enough to evade most oncoming fire. It packs a punch for it's size, with five guns facing forward (the guns and the first turret). It also has a decent powercore. A complete opposite of it's counter-part, the "Fafnir", which is nearly the size of a small gunship. Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination Review by Total Absolution |

This is a very good bomber, capable of taking down any NPC heavy fighter without big problem, and some NPC VHFs are also easy pickings for the Bergelmir. My current loadout of Bomber guns and cannons alike are : 4 Bomber Energy Guns, 1 Bomber EMP Turret, and 1 Bomber Energy Turret. It's too bad that one turret can only fire forward and the other can only fire backward. Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination Review by Buster 6 |
After being a Medium Bomber since its existence, and quite a good one, recently Bergelmir became a Light Bomber. Most famous by its incredibly small shape, this bomber was always top tier. And the lighter version is no different. Keeping the title of the smallest bomber in the game, combined with extremely high agility and excellent guns + Snac placement, this ship is arguably the best bomber in the game.
