Das Wilde is the name of the infested or otherwise Nomad-aligned humans based in Omega-55, Tau-117 and Omega-58, making up the southern presence of the Wild.  While the core of Das Wilde is former Rheinland Military pilots, many taken during the Nomad War of 800-801 A.S., it also includes a handful of special individuals from other nearby factions.  In addition, Das Wilde supports a fleet of Scorpion Gunboat Drones.

Das Wilde (translating in English to The Wild) is an umbrella term referring to the various infested individuals of national origin or affiliation with the Federal Republic of Rheinland. They are most commonly former Rheinwehr officers from the Nomad War of 800-803 AS. It is a common misconception that Das Wilde is a term for any infested human, but while infestation exists in all areas of Sirius, only the successors to the infested forces within the Niemann administration can lay claim to the Germanic title of Das Wilde.

Synopsis
Organization
 +
As a part of the Nomad collective, Das Wilde has no true leader- all elements work in harmony with one another without a need for hierarchy.  However, several notable individuals, such as "Wesen" or Hektor Schneider are known to spearhead many of their efforts. Scorpion Gunboat Drones, however, occupy one of two roles in organization- if running an autonomous program, they are subservient and follow the commands of other Das Wilde agents in the field, while if controlled directly by the Nomads often lead raiding parties.
 +
Forces
 +
Das Wilde makes extensive use of mixed human and Nomad technology.  Most commonly, they use Rheinland Military ships with Nomad-designed weaponry and wargear, sometimes allowing them to get close to their prey before they identify Das Wilde for what they are. Das Wilde also maintains a growing fleet of Scorpion Gunboat Drones, hybrid ships slowly being trained to function on their own without any direct guidance.  These ships are extremely dangerous, built from the ground up to support both Nomad and human technology.  When Scorpions are not being directly controlled by the Nomads, their behavior most resembles that of Artificial Intelligence, though such terminology does not properly describe them.

The leadership of Das Wilde is a complete mystery. Their last known leader, former Grossadmiral Ernst von Scheck of the Nordkriegsmarine (670-800/804 AS) was killed in the Battle of New Berlin, 804 AS by the last remnants of the Kriegsmarine fleet and several minor and major criminal groups such as the Bundschuh, the Red Hessians and the Landwirtrechtbewegung, though in a captured array a single blurry, shadowy image was found of an unidentified humanoid figure who may be a figurehead or even the actual leader of Das Wilde.
+
Modus Operandi
 +
Das Wilde specializes in surgical strikes and terror raids, making use of small, well-coordinated strike forces to accomplish their objectives. In one common configuration, a handful of Wraiths and Bergelmirs will accompany a Scorpion Gunboat Drone, fanning out to locate targets and converging on any enemy that puts up significant resistance.  Should reinforcements arrive to deal with the threat, Das Wilde will employ a variety of misdirection tactics, sometimes getting two enemy relief groups to fire upon each other.  Through these tactics, the Corsairs have lost entire battlegroups to forces they vastly outnumbered.
 +
Operations
 +
Das Wilde most commonly is seen terrorizing mining operations in Omega-7, and while they have made a dent on commerce between Bretonia and Rheinland, these operations serve primarily as a cover for other operations.  Das Wilde is always searching for humans to use as spies, puppets, or more directly as hosts to incubi or material for experiments.  As with the events in Cambridge during the quest for the Sword in the Stone, Das Wilde is also working toward another, far more long term goal.  All that is known now is that whatever it is, it involves the Newcastle system.

Patrollers
Nomads
Patrollers are the most common kind of Wilde, flying modified N9-ARKM-90 Wrath class fighters and having been the subject of several Rheinland documentary films, among them "Die versteckte Drohung" (The Hidden Menace) by Fritz Bretschenider, famous for mixing actual combat footage from a former Rheinwehr officer with that of Kirche des grünen Adlers saint and composer Ralph Becker's "Weg des Adlers" (Path of the Eagle). They, like the song backing their appearance in the film, come swiftly, fiercely ravaging Rheinland ships with blue bolts of alien energy, mixed with old yet potent Kriegsmarine weaponry, decimating their foes unafraid of death.

Hunters
+
Known Bases
Hunters, unlike their patroller counterparts, tend to avoid direct contact with the enemy until they believe the time is absolutely right to strike, and venture autonomously from Wilde patrols to attack Rheinland targets, well illustrated via the Frankfurt campaign of 815. It is possible that they serve a special forces or commander role within the Wilde 'hierarchy', though this, like most xenopolitical studies, is almost total conjecture. Very sketchy reports indicate at least two instances of large, unknown craft being involved in Wilde attacks, but officially, the Rheinwehr denies these rumours.

Die Höflichen
"Die Höflichen" (the civil ones) is a slang term used among Büro der Marineintelligenz agents for the Wild who pose as agents and members of the Rheinland civil government, particularly for those involved in the Purge of 811, where over 120 infested library staff in the Kirche des Grünen Adlers faced off against a BDM raid. This term can also, albeit loosely, be applied to the infested corporate personnel implicated in the scandal that led to Republican Express Shippings formation, though as a slang term the phrase itself has not yet acquired definition among any of the 3 major dictionary cartels that monopolize Rheinland's lingua franca. By their very nature, the civils are unknown, and little common behavior has been found among the diverse array of infestation in Rheinland's history.

Militaristen
+
Rheinic Wilde
Militaristen (militarists) are an older, more recognized term for the Wild who actively impersonate members of the Rheinwehr or it's adjunct agencies, such as the Büro der Marineintelligenz, which is partly tasked with the elimination of Wild infestation. This term is used to help distinguish between active Wild agents, covert Wild agents and the Nomad War era Wild, who are considered a seperate category entirely. Militaristen, like civil, are covert by nature and difficult to identify, though certain Rheinwehr installations are rumored to be developing scanners to detect infestation through thermal and genetic testing.

It is unknown where the Wild are based. The furthest sighting of them ever reported was by Bretonian shipping major Terry Bates, who was attacked by a squadron of Wild on the edge of the Rheinland border. Speculations on their location abound among analysts and conspiracy theorists alike, from a nest near Liberty to above the standard plane to one of the uncharted systems in the Sigmas. Regardless of their base, however, Wild remain a deadly threat, both seen and unseen, to the safety and security of the Federal Republic of House Rheinland.

Synopsis

Organization

As a part of the Nomad collective, Das Wilde has no true leader- all elements work in harmony with one another without a need for hierarchy. However, several notable individuals, such as "Wesen" or Hektor Schneider are known to spearhead many of their efforts. Scorpion Gunboat Drones, however, occupy one of two roles in organization- if running an autonomous program, they are subservient and follow the commands of other Das Wilde agents in the field, while if controlled directly by the Nomads often lead raiding parties.

Forces

Modus Operandi

Operations

Das Wilde most commonly is seen terrorizing mining operations in Omega-7, and while they have made a dent on commerce between Bretonia and Rheinland, these operations serve primarily as a cover for other operations. Das Wilde is always searching for humans to use as spies, puppets, or more directly as hosts to incubi or material for experiments. As with the events in Cambridge during the quest for the Sword in the Stone, Das Wilde is also working toward another, far more long term goal. All that is known now is that whatever it is, it involves the Newcastle system.
