Well This is the new info about the AVENGER it is updated to 4.86 update 3 so the there a lot of change especially ships... The Armor Rating INCREASED to 14000 NANOBOT and SHIELD up to 74. the AVENGER is very good to fly especially fronting a gunboat. the handling is good for me. but for catbert the avenger's handling is true but. sabre and some other agile ship. the avenger can still dodges incoming fire.. try to equip 3 magma hammer MK.V and 3 VENGEANCE MK.V. and sunslayer torpedo.. for me it is a good combination of firepower especially face to face ship battle. try to low the shield of the enemy then after that fire sunslayer torpedo. it will work.... The Avenger can be considered as a "Heavy" Guardian. This ship has more power, armor... but keeps the number of weapons and sacrifces little manuverability. The top fin adds more visual rating but also makes it easier to be hit. A good and nice alternative choice of VHFs in Liberty. Review (4.85)
Being the heaviest fighter that Liberty has to offer, the Avenger boasts increased energy output and armor comparing to the Guardian. However, that advantage comes at a price of maneuvrability, as well as the looks of the ship come at a price of its size: the top fin makes the ship look good (although, tastes differ), but also makes the vessel an easier target. In combat Avenger's low agility may become an issue, but that all depends. In duels you can make use of your firepower and armor by jousting or boxing (I've seen some people doing that rather well). Sliding can make you an easy target, so I'd advise not to do it. In large-scale battles there are two points you need to remember:
Also, Avenger's low agility may be a problem when you face more agile fighters, like the Sabre or the Bayonet (you will confront those ships within Liberty) or the Wraith (the main strike vessel of the Rheinland Military). So, the conclusion: Avenger is perfect for bomber/transport/gunboat interception, can be quite effective in fighter combat (especially in duels), but the agility may become a problem. The low agility is the main reason why people mostly go for the Guardian. But despite the fact, that the Avenger is not an easy ship to fly, it may be deadly in the right hands.Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination Review by Catbert |
Well. The Avenger. This ship is probably my personal favourite fighter in the mod, Compared to liberty's other fighter, the Guardian, the Avenger has higher armor, a bigger powercore, but lower agility and is a bigger target due to the extra fin on top. This ship is exceptional at bomber killing, and against similarly handling VHF's, but is naturally at a downside to more maneuverable ships. It has 5 gun slots and 1 turret, identical to the guardian. The loadout i personally use is 4 SOLARIS codenames, 1 debilitator and 1 deb turret. But since this is a bit pricey for some players, i would recommend replacing the SOLARIS's with Vengeance MK IV's for very nice results. This ship will take some getting used to if your used to the guardian or any other more maneuverable fighter but it is very rewarding if you learn how to fly it well.
