Class 9 Guns are used with Fighters and Freighters. Almost all of the Fighter ships in the Discovery mod use some Class-9 Guns, and are therefore the most common weapon type for player ships. These weapons are often competitive with some of the Class 10 Guns, although they are not as efficient.

Some of the Capital Ship Forward Guns are also Class 9 Guns. It is technically possible to mount those weapons on a fighter or a freighter, however those ships cannnot produce enough power to fire the guns.
