- The Schmidts mined for Daumann over several generations, we fought in the popular Revolt; my family is part of Rheinland history. I'm the last one left of my line, aside from one brother, and here I sit in Omega 5 not fighting for our rights against Daumann or Kruger, but risking my neck fighting Corsairs.
- The Corsairs have better ships and many of them are better pilots than your average Red Hessian. Usually a Corsair will win one on one, but we have numbers on our side. I am confident of victory; it is just a matter of wearing them down. Besides, I've lived long enough to learn how to kill Corsairs on my own.
- Omega-5 is the site of a full scale war between the Corsairs and Hessians. The two factions are vying for control of this critical Jump Hole crossroads in the Omega Sector. Within the area of the no-man's-land and the Hammen Hole are numerous dead ships from both sides. Most are picked clean, but there are some that may still yield some weapons.
- I used to loathe Daumann more than any other, but that's changed. I hate the Corsairs as much as I could hate any. Of the forty pilots who came here as part of the Red Hessian Twilight Squadron in 797 AS, there are four of us left.
- This is where Daumann and Kruger are coming, so this is where we must be. I don't think it's worth it. The Hammen Hole is where Hessians and Corsairs have staged their largest battles. Out there you'll find good salvage -- if you don't become salvage yourself.
- Everything that we need at this base comes from Darmstadt, Freital, or Freistadt. Not just basic supplies, but Side Arms and Engine Components, too. This base is a military operation, so other Hessian bases funnel supplies here.
- I have a friend who is stealing Diamonds in Omega-11. The greedy swine was supposed to come here with me to help win the war against the Corsairs. He said he didn't want to die poor and unimportant. Unimportant indeed -- I have fought my way to squadron leader.
- This system is an important one for the Hessians; it has Jump Holes that lead to Cambridge, Omega-3, Omega-11, Omega-41, Omega-47, and Omega-49. That's a lot of traffic we can raid, and that's why it can't fall to the Corsairs; if they gain control we will be able to expand no further.
- The Omega-3 Jump Hole is where you'll find the action these days in our war against the Corsairs. Both sides run patrols there. We lie in wait so if any Corsair ships come through we can hit them. Funny -- the Corsairs do the same thing.
- The Hessians in Vogtland will tell you that we are chasing Daumann and Kruger operations here to Omega-5; it seems to me that it's the other way around. We came here originally to build a new main base of operations. Now we are entrenched in a bitter battle.

- If you want to trade anything in the Black Market, you better have some Brigand friends. We control a substantial portion of the Gallic Black Market. We once had a great deal of conflict with the Unione Corse over turf, but we have an uneasy truce now that allows us all to profit.
- Even though The Council are not official allies of ours, they keep the Royal forces too busy to deal with us. That's why we help them from time to time and make sure not to stand in their way.
- In this station we have a "rehalibition" program for Royal Police and Navy pilots that don't wish to change their opinions voluntarily. You'd think they would be used to following orders, but some of them are very obstinate.

Freital Base
|
- I don't have many kills on my rap, though I did manage to destroy this one Corsair next to Freital. My wingmates told me after that that he was an elite pilot, and that I am the best in their wing now. But I am sure that Raymond Amsel is better than me...
- This place is always crawling full of fighter jocks, ace and newbie alike. You can tell just by looking at them. After hours and hours of flying on the simulators and in the training fields, this bar is the thing they look forward to the most.

- Apparently the Corsairs have been stepping up their game in the systems ever since the attack on Leipzig, bloody barbarians, looking for any opportunity to mess with us.
- Higher ups say that taking out Strausberg were great victories, but you'd expect us to expand our patrols instead of limiting them. There's something they're not telling us.
- Apparently the Corsairs have been stepping up their game in the systems ever since the attack on Bautzen, bloody barbarians, looking for any opportunity to mess with us.
- I overheard some of our engineers complaining about higher ups deciding to send out Kassel. Apparently it was nowhere near ready for a deployment. Now it's apparently nowhere to be seen?
- Higher ups say that taking out Strausberg and Bautzen were great victories, but you'd expect us to expand our patrols instead of limiting them. There's something they're not telling us.
- The higher ups are working us shipbuilders to the bone, we're pulling over-time non-stop since the battle at Leipzig. That said, I'd expect Kassel to be towed for repairs by now.
- I overheard some of our engineers complaining about higher ups deciding to send out Kassel. Supposedly the ship wasn't lost to the Military, but due to internal explosion. Not sure if I believe them, we still won, right?
- The higher ups are working us shipbuilders to the bone, we're pulling over-time non-stop since our two reserve Hels made it back from the Leipzig battle. Would be nice if we had proper parts to work with, too.

- Fucking Joachim over there thinks he's so slick for finding a way to leave this life behind him. I'd take him out myself, but it would cause a diplomatic incident between us and the Independent Miners. It's cowards like him that caused us to lose Viernheim in the first place.
- I fled from New Berlin to join the Hessian cause, because I bought into their propaganda. Now that I've been with them for a few years, I'm not sure I want to stay here. It's two sides of the same coin, both justifying endless violence until one side gives in, which won't happen anytime soon. I think I'll join the Zoners on Gran Canaria and find a job there, at least I'll be less involved with all the endless space warfare.

Carrier Ben Warner
|
- Welcome aboard the Ben Warner. Since your docking rights have been cleared, I’ll assume you’re trustworthy enough for level 1 access around the ship. You’ll always find company in the bar—myself included. The leisure and living quarters are located toward the south of the ship, but don’t stray too far in that direction, or you might find yourself in trouble for trespassing.

Gjallarbru Research Station
|
- Who granted you access to be here? Was it Hans? He usually checks all the newcomers to see if they're eligible to stay. You don't know Hans? Uhm... you should leave.
- I have to admit something - I am feeling quite lonely here. We don't get many visitors due to the secrecy of the station, and Omega-55 is as far from home as it gets. The Hessians pay me handsomely as a researcher, and I'm no longer welcome in Rheinland academia, so here I'll stay. The Omega war has no end in sight, so I doubt things will change for the better anytime soon.
- The Red Hessians found this base, we didn't originally build it. The databanks were mostly scrubbed clean, but we're fairly sure this was an MND outpost that was abandoned. I think they were probably trying to trace Coalition raids back to their source, or maybe investigating this system's Rheinland wreckage.
- There's been a Coalition scout wing parked here for a few years now, although Command is cagey about letting them wander the station. They're basically early warning for anything trying to slip into Omega-47. A Corsair fleet took us both by surprise that way back in 819 AS, and the Coalition won't give them the opportunity again.
- The Core are working on some kind of alien ruin on Skagen. Sometimes we drop down into the atmosphere to try and snatch the overland convoys that run between their mining camps. If we're lucky and there are no interceptors nearby from Dagger, they'll dump cargo and run. If there are any Artifacts, Gjallarbru pays us very well.
- I'm not allowed to talk about what I'm working on, but hopefully it'll give us an edge over the Corsairs. What I really think we should be doing is studying the nearby anomaly. What is it? A collapsed wormhole? Imagine if we understood how to collapse wormholes manually. We'd seal the Corsairs away and crush the survivors in a few months.
- A few weeks ago my squadron had their Natterturms replaced with new, experimental cannons that the techs here have come up with. I've never seen anything like them, and the mounting assembly and power adapter is bizarre. I'm no engineer, but these weapons look like Rheinland tech spliced with something I don't recognize. I can't complain about the performance, but they make me uneasy.
- Robot ships have started flooding into Omega-55 from 47. Mostly they head towards the Omicrons or mess with The Core, so we leave them to it. I've heard some of the researchers say they're aliens -- scares the hell out of me. We've been told to try and bring back salvage from the Drones, but I sure as hell ain't planning on starting that fight.
- The Coalition used to have a base in this system -- Kamchatka. Miserable place to live and serve. I visited once to resupply on patrol and that was enough. They say the station fell as a martyr for the Revolution, resisting a vicious Core onslaught. The Coalition doesn't like to admit to its failures however. I heard all the Core really did was mop up after a mutiny burned the facility to the ground.
- I don't know what the researchers are up to here, but I heard a few years back some scouts pulled an old Colony War era Valkyrie out of the Reykjavik Cloud. Allegedly it had an intact Rheinland Military Cloaking Device on it. I'd love to get my hands on one of those. The Corsairs wouldn't know what hit them.
- Beats me why Vogtland wants to fund a research station this far out. I suppose it's close enough to The Coalition for supplies and support, but distant enough to be independent. Plus there are active battlefronts in Omegas 5, 41 and 47, so lots of opportunities to grab enemy wreckage and field test reverse engineered equipment. We're also remote enough that's it's easy to cover up... accidents. Maybe it does make sense...

Planet Tangier
|
- I'm about to go fly wingman for a Coalition patrol headed into the eastern Walker nebula. Joint patrols are uncommon, but we're after a particular Corsair that's been giving our suppliers a lot of trouble recently. Everyone with a stake in Tangier has a claim on his head, so we'll take him out together.
- The volcanic eruptions here are a sight to behold. This outpost is far enough away to be safe, but you can see the eruptions to the south. Sometimes they go on for days. That's where the richest mineral deposits are, too; I don't envy the Coalition colonists that trek out there for the mining operations.
- It's been several years since we lost Viernheim up in orbit. I still remember the day with shame. But the Coalition have made good use of this place, and they even share its bounty with us. Together we'll push back the Corsair barbarians and show everyone once and for all who really owns the Walker.

- If you want to make friends with a Hessian, start shooting up some Daumann or Kruger ships. We mount many of our attacks in Berlin right out of this base. You've got Kruger's base at Essen, and the Trade Lanes to Hamburg and Stuttgart. Plenty of choices, just depends what mood you're in.
- It's kind of nice to see a sun again. I've been trapped on Vogtland for months, repairing ships damaged in the Omega-5 battles. They let me have a little rest and recreation in Berlin. So I'm out popping Bounty Hunters and Daumann escort ships. I find it very therapeutic.
- We've been helping the LWB a bit. They let us use their base in the Ostnebel in Stuttgart. They aren't really up to Hessian standards as far as combat skill and equipment levels, but they are fast learners.
- This is a good stop-over point for our forays into Hamburg. Not really our territory up there. We just make runs on the prison occasionally, mostly when they capture a senior pilot or someone else valuable to our cause.
- I've just come in from the Freital base in Omega-11 with some Diamonds mined from the Von Rohe Belt. You're on the edge of nowhere out there -- Corsair country to the south and west. We've got a little war with them going in Omega-5, if you want some action.
- The Hessians are always looking for able-bodied pilots who like a bit of a fight, especially if you hate Corsairs like we do. We always need supplies up in Vogtland. That's our headquarters in Dresden, through the Hole in the Saarfeld.

Vogtland Base

- What a fitting place this cloud is; formed from the sulfurous waste of the smelting plants in the system, crafted by Daumann and Kruger's heedlessness. Now it hides their greatest threat: the Red Hessians. It also hides the Jump Hole to New Berlin.
- Rheinlanders have a slang for Diamonds -- they call them "Hessian Tears." They symbolize the lives of all the miners crushed into the Rheinland corporate machine, our fight to hold back the tide of Daumann and Kruger, and our struggle to pay for our crusade with their beauty.
- Years ago this was our only base. But we have expanded, due greatly to the Jump Holes that have been found. Also, we've had great success mining and stealing Diamonds. Hessians know the corporate strategies and protocols -- we used to be part of them. That's why our strikes are so effective.
- The Rheinland Republic was supposed to be about the common man getting paid well for hard work, about companies that cared if their employees were safe. Those brave souls who died fighting to overthrow the empire -- why? Rheinland has the same masters, only now they rule a republic instead of an empire.
- All the supplies we need to keep this base going are bought by us from Junkers in Kreuzberg and brought here. Thank goodness for our lovely black markets in New Berlin.
- The Giftnebel is a dangerous cloud to move through, but its proximity to the Kruger and Daumann operations here makes it worthwhile. We know this system well, and that helps us when we raid the corporates trying to ship their goods back to New Berlin.
- This base serves as a trade depot for other Hessian bases in the area. The basic supplies we ship here also get shipped to Freital. If you made these shipments, it would be easier for us since the police actively hunt for us.
- Along with basic supplies, we also purchase Side Arms and Engine Components from the Junkers in New Berlin to ship here. Surplus weapons and engine parts get sent to Freital.
- Aye fought during the battle for Leipzig, and lemme tell ye, I've barely made it out alive! *hic* Shame about the Kassel though. *hic* I mean... yay Hessians!
- We may have suffered some losses near Leipzig, but nothing compared to the Military losses. No doubt the Corsairs would be eager to come in and take advantage of the situation but the minefield keeps us safe for the time being.
- I'm one of the few Red Hessians left who really tries to fight for the cause. Mostly, my brotherhood is one of pirates, but there are still some of us who haven't lost the meaning in all of the greed that has overcome the others.
- Diamonds come to this base from Freital in Omega 11. We will take them to the Junkers in New Berlin to be sold on the black markets. It is these Diamonds that fund the majority of all Red Hessian operations.
- We might eventually win this system from the corporates. Ore deposits here will soon be exhausted, and our attacks cost them dearly. Intelligence suggests they may be moving the bulk of their mining operations to Omega-7. If that happens, it will be a great victory for us.
- We may have suffered some losses near Bautzen and Leipzig, but nothing compared to the Military losses. No doubt the Corsairs would be eager to come in and take advantage of the situation but the minefield keeps us safe for the time being.
- I fought during the battle for Leipzig, and let me tell you, I've barely made it out alive. The heroic story of a massive Military defeat that the higher-ups are preaching is full of crap, but you haven't heard that from me, got it?

Heisenberg Research Station
|
- I'm on a regular run between Omega-11 and this system, as part of our diamond operation to Liberty. Heisenberg is a good supply spot, and the crowd here is friendlier than most. Probably because, unlike the brainwashed public everywhere else, the boffins here actually do listen to what we have to say.
