With an influx of Capital Class vessels, the men and women of action in the Border Worlds and Edge Worlds required a ship that could hold its own in the dangerous environment. Boasting more power and armor than the Series Z, and the additional fire power of an extra torpedo slot, the Cutlass has become the bane of bounty hunters and criminals alike.
Designed more for hit and run raids against convoys or running skirmishes with capital ships than for head on assaults against fleets, the Cutlass possesses less armor than the Falcata, but boasts greater agility and thus, supposedly, equal or greater survivability for its pilot.

Review
A ship that has been waited on by many people ( And several factions) The Cutlass might come off, at least initially, as a nice ship. Using the Sabre as a base and going from, the ship is undeniably pretty (Although opinions defer.) Its main attribute is, well, being Border worlds, meaning many can tap into it. However, all that joy may be thwarted when you launch and take a gander at the stats. From a size perspective, the Cutlass is a giant, a trait inherited from the Sabre. Its agility and mass is less than optimal for the core and armor rating it has as well. It reminds me heavily of the Upholder. When facing fighters or other bombers, it's a good idea to get their shields down, then early turn a long time before. If you're lucky, you can catch them by surprise and shove a SNAC down their throat. While early turning, you may want to drop a mine as well and for the love of god, keep your distance from a enemy bomber if your shields are down! A single close strafe with no shields versus a bomber can mean game over in a single hit. Against anything bigger, your best bet is to have other buddies in Cutlass'. Just going to town, taking care not to get into range unless you have to to land a hit. This is the biggest problem when facing Gunboats, as to land a hit for sure, you've to venture into the range of their rather powerful weaponry.
