Omega Pirates Guild is a Corsair faction that focuses more on piracy than other goals the Corsair factions push. They are based in Omega part of Corsair space.

Omega Pirate Guild

Omega Pirate Guild

Short summary

The Omega Pirates Guild. The name speaks for itself, the OPG are Corsair pirates. We own and operate out of the Omegas, in particular Omega 41 and Omega 5. Originating from Cadiz base, the OPG has grown to become one of the prime Corsair factions. The OPG funds itself by pirating traders in the Omegas, Sigmas, Bretonia and Rheinland, funding a large fleet of Artifact smugglers and running protection rackets.

History

The OPG started as a small band of pirates. Gentle, found the Corsair pirates to be a disorganized rowdy bunch, that achieved very little. They didn't cooperate effectively among themselves, were easily overrun by House authorities, and very little of the spoils reached any Corsairs at Crete.

Gentle was disgusted, and started to recruit pirates and OPG gained it's first members. Most of the pirates joined eagerly, and a few of the more stubborn pirates were forced into submission. The backbone of the Guild was formed of some of the most ruthless and toughest pirates among the Corsairs. As news spread of the success rates of OPG raids on Crete, the youth of Crete were standing in lines to join and have their share of the adventure and spoils.

As the number of OPG pirates grew, so did their influence. Rather than being focussed solely in piracy, OPG expanded and ships were increasingly deployed in fleet operations. They quickly became the mainstay fleet of the Omegas, holding the lines against the Hessians and Mollies. As the Brotherhood weakened, the OPG grew in it's place, and took over main Corsair operations.

After various power struggles, the OPG now holds seats in the Corsair Council, sharing governance over the Corsairs together with the Brotherhood and the Benitez.

Lately the OPG has set it's eyes on Bretonia. Envying, Cambridge's abundance of food, while the Corsair people starved. Corsair raids into Bretonia increased, spearheaded by the OPG and relations with Bretonia has worsened ever since.

Today the OPG are some of the most feared pirates in Sirius. Brutal and effective tactics have made the OPG infamous among traders.

Hierarchy

Rank Description

Pirate King

The Pirate King is the one and only leader of OPG. A lad so disgustingly brutal that he refuses to take orders from anyone. The Pirate King is allowed to fly all shipclasses and does as he pleases.

Overpirate

The overpirate is the second in command and personal lapdog of the pirate king. If the pirate king is unable to be in space, the overpirate takes over the leadership. The only orders it takes are those from the pirate king. The overpirate is allowed to fly all shipclasses.

Warscourge

Warscourges are similar to scourges, the only difference is that they are the most experienced strategists inside OPG. They fought many battles and left most of them unharmed. The warscourge takes the lead in fights and makes sure everyone does what they do best. Warscourges are allowed to fly all shipclasses.

Scourge

Scourges are basically the third in command. They follow orders from the Pirate King and the Overpirate. In Battles they also follow orders from the Warscourge. Scourges are capable to give orders to anything below. Scourges make diplomatic decisions and are also in charge of guiding new members. Scourges are allowed to fly all shipclasses.

Scourge’s Mate

Scourge’s Mates mostly work together with their scourge. Both scout for possible new recruits and if they see potential, they’ll guide them through the process of becoming a true OPG-member. Usually the scourge’s mates aren’t in direct contact with the Pirate king or Overpirate. Communication goes via the scourge, who will then inform the higher ups. Scourges Mates are allowed to fly Cruiser class ships and below.

Marauder

Marauders are established OPG members who have proven to be loyal. They are mainly the brute manpower needed in all kinds of situations. Marauders answer to both scourges and scourge’s mates. Communication with the higher ups will go via these as well. Marauders are allowed to fly fighters, bombers and gunboats

Dock Rat

Dock Rats are still wet behind the ears and function as OPG’s doormat. They always end up paying for everything and have to clean up after the rest of OPG left the scene. In bar fights they’ll usually function as a defensive shield against flying glass, tables and people. If the rest of OPG runs out of bar stools, they’ll resort to Dock Rats. Beside this they undergo extensive training. If they last long enough, they’ll move up the ladder and become true hombres with grande cojones.

The Omega Pirates Guild has his own fleet of capital ships. None of the OPG-members are allowed to fly their own capital ships under the OPG flag.

Recruitment details

A general ability to RP.

  • A roleplaying excercise between a recruit and Gentle, Asno, or one of the Scourges will be done, where the recruit 'pirates' the examiner, the recruit needs to show an ability to pirate properly with appropriate RP.
  • A serious desire to engage in piracy, rather than combat. If you want combat, join the Brotherhood or the Benitez, if you want piracy, the OPG is for you.

OORP goals

  • A lot of people complain that Corsair and Outcasts do very little than sit in front of their planet.
  • Omicron Gamma is full of beginner independents.
  • Many beginners see Corsairs as 'cool pirates'.
  • The OPG will welcome in such beginners, and will attempt to instill some discipline into them and teach them how to RP as pirates, moving them into Omegas, instead of Omicron Gamma, and try to eliminate OOC in system chat, beginning with OPG members, and asking/teaching beginners how to do the same.

How we're different

We're different because we're on the front. Stationed on fronts of Corsair borders we are there to give trouble daily to Hessians, Bretonians and any other nations that dare to venture trough the Omegas. We are pirates, made from individuals that have their own and different perspectives, but are still united with the honor and courage of Corsairs. Most of us are not from the rich families but we support both the Brotherhood and Benitez family. And as the Crete itself says, wait no, screams: "Any other basic supplies must be imported or stolen"
