It may be classified as a Light Fighter, but there is nothing light about this ship. With its expanded power capacity and armor rating the Scimitar has all of the muscle required to survive in the harsh frontier of the Border Worlds and even Edge Worlds. An excellent choice for those craving adventure.

The Scimitar sports a forward firing turret, hence offering more firepower than most other Light Fighters. However, one should pay specific attention to energy levels when using all five guns at one time. Due to this ship's thin but flat frame, vertical strafing offers the least exposure to enemy guns. I just love this thing. The Scimitar has to be one of the best light fighters in the game, amazingly fast and maneuverable, and it has a tiny head on profile. She also has a respectable number of nanobots for a light fighter. Personally I put a deb turret on the roof and grab a cannonball missile and load the rest of the guns up with faction class 9s and 8s and get a Screamer mine. Most light fighters have only 4 weapons that fire forward, the Scimitar has 5, so you have an edge, but the light fighter powerplant can’t handle 5 guns at once very well, so a missile will have you save some power and provide you with a powerful punch against VHFs which can surprise them. I like using a Screamer mine on the Scimitar for two reasons though, 1 it acts as a safety net because if it blows up in your face you can live through it (unlike nuke mines) and 2 it strips shields fast to allow you to use that cannonball missile on them. This is a light fighter that I think can actually joust a VHF effectively with this loadout, not only that but now that light fighters have a speed buff they are the fastest thing in the game. You can pick your battles, run from any you do not to fight and intercept transports and escaping fighters with ease.
