Companies were formed and given royal charters-near carte blanche-to develop the system in any way they saw fit, while settlers were handed generous incentives to move to Leeds and serve as the workforce. |

+ | The Leeds system is a crossroad system of Bretonia space, and is the industrial center of the Bretonian empire. Jump gate accesses can be found in this system connected to The [[Edinburgh]] system, [[Newcastle]] system, [[New London]] system and the [[Tau-31]] system. Several companies have already set up bases in this system, as well as the police and military authorities. Leeds is one of the focal points of the Bretonia/Kusari war, with [[Kusari]] forces controlling the Tau-31 jump gate and [[Stokes Mining Station]], and Bretonian forces controlling the rest of the system.

− | : | + | : Perpetually swathed in its trademark smog storms, planet Leeds is a vast metropolis of manufacturing facilities, smelters, processing plants and environmentally sealed apartment blocks. Centuries of industrial abuse aided and abetted by morally corrupt corporations, lack of official oversight and severe overpopulation have lead to the planet being the symbol of everything the Green Front, and their unlawful counterparts the Gaians, fight against. |

− | : | + | : The Leeds system was quickly recognised as the most resource rich system under Bretonian control during the House's formative years. Many new companies, including Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing, were given near carte blanche to develop the system as they saw fit, and many colonists were given extremely generous incentives in order to move to Leeds and serve as the workforce. The planetary population has since climbed steadily, and the last census of the Leeds system in 816 A.S. listed the planet as having over 2.2 billion inhabitants, making it arguably the most heavily populated planet in the Sirius sector. |
− | : | + | : Leeds has suffered considerably from the continuous threat of hostile invasion. While a large portion of the surface is already barely inhabitable due to near-toxic levels of pollution in the atmosphere, the pressure to produce more for the Bretonian military forces, both planetside and in space, have driven the industry to new production heights. As the Kusari forces in Bretonia were forced to capitulate and the threat to the planet ended, a large strike among the workforce paralysed the planetside Bauxite mines. In response, BMM signed a supply contract for Bauxite with Daumann, effectively putting the unruly miners out of a job. While the longterm effects of this are as of yet unknown, more and more civilians are leaving Leeds for refugee camps in New London and Cambridge, while the Armed Forces continue to fortify the planet surface and orbit against the threat of a Gallic invasion. |

− | : | + | : Stokes Mining Station was run by Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) until 817 A.S. It was the largest orbital facility in all of Bretonia and has operated continuously for centuries. Aside from BMM, representatives from Kusari shipping companies were also present, negotiating for the basic materials required to fuel their own industries. |
+ | |||
+ | : In 817 A.S., when Kusari fleets reached Stokes, the Bretonia Armed Forces chose to defend the station at all costs. The decision was rumored to be inspired by the BMM lobby within the New London government elite. From a strategic point of view, this was a grave mistake, since Stokes is a large and spread out installation hardly suitable for defensive purposes. Bretonian fleets around Stokes were swiftly scattered and had to retreat, and the station itself was captured by the Kusari Naval Forces with minimal casualties.
− | : | + | : Samura and Kishiro, despite their fierce competition, joined forces to operate the facility after it was seized from BMM. The mining operations were restored in a matter of weeks by Kusari workers brought from Kyushu and it was rumored that certain IMG members and former BMM employees collaborated with Kusari companies. |

− | : | + | : Following the withdrawal of hostile Kusari forces from Leeds in early 818 A.S., BMM reclaimed the station and immediately began refitting it for Ship Hull Panel construction. Within weeks the station was in full production and supplying the Bretonian and Liberty militaries with vital capital ship components to repair and rearm their fleets for action against Gallia. |

− | : | + | : Before 816 A.S., Glasgow Outpost was the headquarters for Bowex (Border World Exports), a very large, very old shipping conglomerate. Bowex, which received its royal charter from Prince Harry XXI himself in 310 A.S., claims a long and storied history in which the company was involved in most of the major events of Bretonian history. Prior to the war with Kusari, Bowex was the leading Bretonian shipping concern and handles most of the shipping in and around Leeds. |
− | : | + | : When Kusari's onslaught against Bretonia reached the Leeds system, Bowex officials moved to New London and other stations located in safer areas of Bretonia. The outpost still formally belonged to the company, but in fact was operated by Bretonia Armed Forces. Glasgow was reinforced with hull plates and modern station weaponry, yet, the Armed Forces did not have time and resources to renew the dated and inefficient internal security systems. The Kusari Navy used this weakness in the battle for the jump gate, dispatching several small groups of commandos that were able to neutralize many of the station's defenders by a surprise attack, and gaining partial control of weapon systems. Yet, the remaining defenders of Glasgow did not surrender, and fighting on the station continued long after the surrounding space was cleared of Bretonia Armed Forces presence. |
+ | |||
+ | : After the war between Kusari and Bretonia was forced to a conclusion by the invasion of Gallia into the Tau systems, Bowex reclaimed the station, but its perilous position so close to the Tau-31 Jump Gate made the station a hazardous duty post for Bowex's employees.

Refining the Uranium with processed Plutonium from the Sigma systems to produce MOX, LD-14 is one of the only commercial suppliers of capital ship fuel within Sirius, making the operation valuable to both BMM, and the Mollies, who raid both the station and shipments from the station on a regular basis to feed their own fuel needs. The Kusari invasion of the Tau systems and Bretonia eliminated Kusari as a MOX customer for LD-14, and with ALG supplying Rheinland with its own MOX, the Liberty Navy became BMM's best customer, after the Bretonian Armed Forces. |

Commanded by Taisho Nagano of the Kusari Kaigun, it has seen action in several conflicts, including against Rheinland during the Nomad War, and against Outcast war bands in Tau-29. More recently, however, it was instrumental in Kusari's offensive push into Leeds against Bretonia, and was been stationed outside Glasgow Outpost to maintain order onboard the captured station, and to hold the Tau-31 Jump Gate. After Gallia invaded the Tau systems and cut the Kusari fleet in two, the Nagasaki's crew remained loyal to the exiled Emperor and was redeployed to guard Stokes Mining Station from potential Gallic assaults while the BAF guards the jump gates into the Leeds system. |

Soon after settlement, Bretonia needed raw materials, and Leeds was quickly recognized as the most resource rich system under Bretonian control. Companies were formed and given royal charters-near carte blanche-to develop the system in any way they saw fit, while settlers were handed generous incentives to move to Leeds and serve as the workforce.
The Leeds system is a crossroad system of Bretonia space, and is the industrial center of the Bretonian empire. Jump gate accesses can be found in this system connected to The Edinburgh system, Newcastle system, New London system and the Tau-31 system. Several companies have already set up bases in this system, as well as the police and military authorities. Leeds is one of the focal points of the Bretonia/Kusari war, with Kusari forces controlling the Tau-31 jump gate and Stokes Mining Station, and Bretonian forces controlling the rest of the system.
