The Acheron is the latest entry to the CT-400 Transport turret line. Designing it on the basis of the CT-402 "Charon", it's engineers pushed the DCE converter and energy-storage modules to their physical limits. By connecting a newly developed DCE-OC module, mounted inside reinforced storage containers, to a transports central powercore unit it is possible to inject additional energy into the drive core energy circuit, which is then distributed to the CT-402K. While the increase in energy flow enables the weapon to fire more powerful energy bolts, it also puts immense stress on the ship's energy circuit and heat transfer system. Thusly, this weapon should be used only over a short period of time, as it may otherwise permanently damage EC, DCE, and HTS components.
