C-110

Approximately 2,5 kiloparsecs away from the Sun, located somewhere between the Orion and Perseus Arms of the Milky Way galaxy, the Colonies, humanity's first interstellar empires, span throughout the reaches of the small, but very dense C110 star cluster. The current version of the C-Atlas (which excludes large parts of Gallia) counts 124 surveyed systems of which 56 are under control of the House governments (not counting the Nación Maltesa and Imperio del Corsario) and 67 are not.

The Sirius Sector

Liberty

Silverton asteroid field in Colorado

Located at roughly the center of the Sirius Sector, the Liberty systems are both rich in resources and traffic. Fifteen systems are considered part of the Liberty Republic: New York, Texas, Colorado, California, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Ontario, Alberta, Minnesota, Yukon, Illinois, Virginia, New Hampshire, Quebec and Alaska. Only New York, Texas, Colorado, California and Pennsylvania contain habitable planets; Illinois and Virginia are off-limits to the general public, the former only being open to the LPI and the latter being military space; Alaska is officially designated a "Navy equipment testing site" and all information regarding it is tightly controlled; Kansas, New Hampshire and Quebec are not populated at all.

Bretonia

Planet New London, Bretonia's capital

The Kingdom of Bretonia, located in the western part of the Sirius Sector, is made up of ten star systems (New London, Cambridge, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Dublin, Dundee, Poole and Salisbury), out of which three include populated Planets: New London, Leeds and Cambridge. In addition, the Kingdom also lays claim unto six further star systems: Inverness, Chester, Lewis, Orkney, Tau-23 and Tau-31. Out of those systems, however, Lewis has been almost entirely overrun with Gaians since the late 740s and in practice is well beyond the control of the Bretonian state, whilst Chester and Inverness remain undeveloped at present due to a lack of discovered exploitable resources and current budget constraints of the Bretonian Crown. As for Tau 31, 23 and Orkney, control of the systems is hotly contested by the Kusari Empire and it appears that the outcome of the present war will decide their fate once and for all. The Barrier spans throughout Bretonia and geographically separates it from the Liberty Republic.

Kusari

The Kusari Empire, located inside the northern Crow Nebula, has a recognized territory of 8 star systems in the north of the Sirius Sector: New Tokyo, Kyushu, Shikoku, Honshu, Hokkaido, Tohoku, Hiroshima, Fukuoka. In 812 A.S., Kusari, in an effort to expand it's territories, lay claim on the Tau-29 and 31 systems, which led to the currently ongoing Tau War. Kusari's core systems are generally mined out and poor in resources, but it's border worlds are rich in gases and over 80% of all H-Fuel in Sirius has it's origin in Kusari.

Nebulae

Inside the Crow Nebula.

C-110 is the home of many large and small nebulae, the largest of them being the Crow Nebula, the Walker Nebula, the Barrier and the mysterious Edge Nebula. While all but the Edge Nebula have been thoroughly mapped, traveling through C-110's nebulae can still be quite dangerous; they often contain dangerous pockets of radiation, explosive gases and deadly asteroids, and they also make perfect hiding places for the many pirate and terrorist organizations of Sirius as scanner and radio waves often have great difficulties penetrating them and the poor visibility inside the clouds hides them from plain sight. Adventurous Freelancers should consider reading our guide to the many hazards they may encounter on their travels before leaving the relatively safe House space and venturing into the depths of C-110's nebulae.

Sol

The fate of the Sol System, humanity's war-torn cradle, is largely unknown to the inhabitants of the Colonies, however it is presumed that it now is completely under Coalition control. It consists of 8 planets, one of them habitable, the others partly colonized at the time the Sleeper Ships departed to C-110, and one bright G2V-class star which gives the system it's name. Since the foundation of the Colonies, no contact has been made with ships coming from the Sol system and another war with the Coalition seems highly unlikely, given the sheer distance between Sol and C-110. Some theories speculate about a Nomad assault on the system, however, they are usually disregarded as there seems to be no proof for a Nomad presence outside the Sirius Sector.
