SN-02 "Supernova" Cryogenic Antimatter Cannon
In response to the rapid rebuilding of hardened Sirian warship fleets in the wake of the Nomad War, modernized designs for bombers were developed in kind to provide militaries with low-cost alternatives to risking billions of credits against hostile capital ships. At the heart of these bombers lay the Supernova Antimatter Cannon, a downscaled derivative of the well-known and well-revered "Mortar" series of cryogenic antimatter projectors. Utilizing the majority of a bomber's power plant to drive the gravitic projection and supercooling of the weapon's payload, the SN-02 and its various clones deliver a cryogenically stabilized physics package of anti-hydrogen atoms suspended in carbon fullerenes, a combination that rips through hullmetal with the ferocity of a nanoscopic artificial sun.
The SN-02 succeeds the original SN-01, whose plans were released onto the open market shortly after their completion by weapons researchers in the early ninth century AS While many factions across Sirius have their own customized versions of this pocket-sized tide turner, the SN-02 is commonly available at open ports throughout the colonies to anyone who supplies the only credentials that matter to arms dealers: a nice, healthy stack of clean cash.
