"Borer" Gunboat Siege Cannon

Much as the Storm Cannon found itself bastardized into a gunboat-sized platform, so too has the "Auger" Siege Cannon found itself with a smaller, reckless brother. Dubbed the "Borer", this weapon is both an engineering miracle and nightmare, channeling a terrifying amount of energy in order to release a focused charge of plasma capable of penetrating the most hardened shield systems in Sirius.

Featuring power consumption that would put small factories to shame and a barrel lifetime measured in minutes, the "Borer" is nonetheless finding itself mounted (or crudely welded) on more and more craft throughout Sirius, especially on those belonging to organizations who cannot afford to field larger, traditional anti-installation warships. Like its larger brother, it too requires a steady supply of cooling cartridges or barrel changes - the former being much more preferable if your Chief Engineer's lifespan is of any concern.
