Armor upgrades specially developed for capital ships are cheaper than the universal upgrades of similar class, but occupy much more cargo space. The Mk III upgrade is a fairly lightweight capital ship armor. It offers you cheap reliable protection without taking up all your cargo space. Multiplies base armor by 2.7; occupies 170 cargo space.
