The parade square on the Stirling was crowded with officers of the fleet. Many scarred, many very young, replacing veterans who had finally failed to dodge death just once. All it took was once.

Wartime was a good time for promotions and glory in the Armed Forces. A lousy time to stay alive, though.

A bald, grim man took the stage with the aid of a cane. Fleet Admiral James Ralston was still breaking in a synthetic hip.

"I am here today to honour a man whose dedication to Bretonia is without parallel, whose skills as a pilot are top notch, and whose cunning as a commander has won more than a few battles."

"I am here today to promote to the rank of Admiral, one very deserving Firmus Piett."

The men who were assembled there gave a cheer, and the new Admiral came forward to receive his rank insignia and documentation.

The marchpast was well executed. Many of the men were rusty at drill (combat skills being, for stunningly obvious reasons, a priority in training these days) But they still apparently knew what they were doing on a parade ground, a fact that Ralston appreciated.

If all went well, in another year or so, it would no longer be necessary to know how to pilot a Templar better than how to execute a proper Wing marchpast.

If all went well; if Bretonia prevailed.

The Dauntless was listing, being pulled into a nearby asteroid by the force of its gravity.

The battle with the Kusari had erased two Kusari Destroyers from the enemy's order of battle, but it looked dangerously like the Dauntless was going to suffer a similar fate, in about 2 minutes. Weakened by the fight, a collision with the asteroid would destroy her.

Captain John Clay was returning from patrol in his Templar when he saw his ship about to die. He knew what was going to happen, he knew he had full load of nuke mines left, and he knew those would turn that asteroid into small harmless chunks, and he knew he had no time to ponder other options.

He also knew he had to time his ejection very accurately...

------------------------------------------------------

Grey walls, grey ceiling, grey bed. Intensive care was not conducive to cheer.

Clay's head felt like he'd been caught cheating with a Sumo wrestler's wife.

In the next room, a familiar looking figure was undergoing some physiotherapy for his mixed bag of original and replacement leg parts. Once he was done, he came over to John with a smile on his face.

"Glad to see your doing as well as the Dauntless. Both of you will be on the mend for some time."

Fleet Admiral Ralston sat, with a grimace.

"You saved that ship, Commodore Clay."

He got up and waved away the need for a response from the injured man. As he left, he said one more thing;

"Get well soon. You'll find the Derby an easier command. Unless you need to take the Dauntless out, once she is shipshape, if the Derby gets too boring for you..."

Admirals,
Today, I caught a distress call from the HMS Dagobaz. It was coming from Cambridge. I dispatched as many ships as possible, locked the system down, and looked for Admiral Fraser. We found him. And he was facing the Necrosis. Yes, you hear well. The terrorist madman showed up after quite some time. I quickly approached Dagobaz, and turned my systems on, when the Necrosis started to run. I followed it, until I recieved an order from Admiral Fraser to break off.

We managed to save his life, and it is my honour I could be there.

That is all.

For Bretonia, and for the Queen!

Clay out.

Good day ladies and gentlemen,
today, only an hour after finishing my regular duty I was sent by an emergency back into space. Intel was rather scarce, but I was first ordered to help lock-down the Cambridge system without knowing much about what is going on. Then somebody said Necrosis. Another silly pirate nickname, I thought. But then I have heard system-wide transmissions from HMS Dagobaz, apparently having huge problems with the said criminal. I concluded that the bandit is capital class ship and was allowed to go get bomber after I asked. Then I continued the search for the bandit, who was too elusive to be an ordinary one. Search brought no success, but nevertheless Dagobaz and her crew was saved despite the damage. Later on we dealt with a lone smuggler in front of planet Cambridge, he was taken in custody to Newgate.

That would be all,
Clay out.

There was a lot going on today, so I will begin from the most important info, each event will be numbered to show the order in which the events happened.

[color=#CCCCCC]<span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%]Event 3.
Shortly after I've switched from Challenger to Templar, I received the distress call from Her Majesty Ship Dagobaz commanded by Admiral Jack Fraser, stating that terrorist madman known as Necrosis who has made his way to Cambridge, he also stated that the cambridge system is to be placed under immediate lockdown, and all civilian traffic is to be evacuated immediately. I quickly made my way to the Camridge jump gate at New London, where I awaited for reinforcements. Commodore Clay was first to assist me, and we both made our way to Cambridge. Dagobaz control then stated that they got under fire from said ship, and are requesting assistance. His comms must have been broken during the fire, due to lack of any further info regarding his position.

We managed to lock every exit from the system, and those unnassigned began a search. I managed to grab Dagobaz signal, but the transmission of Z- coordinate was jammed, I called all forces I could to assist with pinpointing of Dagobaz positon. Commodore Clay was the first to do so, and assisted already damaged Dagobaz, managing to fight him off and force him to retreat. Dagobaz had to retreat to Norfolk for repairs, while commodore attempted pursuit. After a few minutes, me and LtCdr Sinclair managed to catch up with the commodore, but Admiral ordered to withdraw immediately, despite commodore's wish for scrapping the ship.
All forces were recalled to Norfolk for debriefing and then dismissed.

[color=#CCCCCC]Event 2. We received a report about RM military vessel that went AWOL, and everyone who had a Challenger available made his way to one, LtCdr Sinclair was the first to reach him, and quickly got under fire without warning, since reinforcements were on it's way, and the ship was already eating rust, it was dealt with very quickly, providing us with lots of spare parts for our own military assets. Then we detected a vessel of profile unknown to our databases. It was one of those strange, blue glowing vessels. It was small one, so everyone was ordered to switch to their fighters, in case he made any hostile actions.

Event 1. The day began with pretty long training session commandeered by Commodore Clay, from HMS-Sovereign, it covered fleet battles, and standard dogfights, I'm sure commodore should be the one to say more about the results of the training.

Event 4. Shortly after debriefing, we received info about an artifact smuggler, we quickly managed to catch him on the orbit of Cambridge, and since the smuggler was unable to pay the fine placed oh him, we had to arrest him. I delivered him to BPA Newgate personally.

[Subject: Battle with the NECROSIS]

Good Afternoon.

Well, I began my usual patrol by undocking from the Battleship Derby in Leeds. When Cdr Clay ordered us to report to Salsibury for training. Where we were joined by various ensigns and the HMS Royal Sovereign. From there on we proceeded to revise fleet tactics and dogfighting skills in our Templars. However, we recieved a distress signal from Lt Cdr Sinclair that a Rheinland Battleship with a Kusari Naval Forces transponder was orbiting Leeds. Quickly I switched to my Challenger and met up with Lt Cdr Sinclair above Leeds. The Battleship, Callsign Cristi refused to acknowledge our attempts at communication and proceeded to open fire. We returned fire and reduced the [color=#FF0000]Cristi
to a flaming wreck.

However, he seemingly defied logic and returned minutes later and again proceeded to open fire. Once again myself, Lt Cdr Sinclar and Lt Clarke destroyed him. He returned yet again and we destroyed him again. However, a Outcast Dreadnought, callsign MNS Razorspine undocked from Leeds and after a brief discussion, proceeded to help us destroy Cristi. We were later joined by the HMS Queen Elizabeth and the HMS Endeavour, he helped us enforce the Leeds Embargo. Shortly afterwards, a Rheinland Military Wraith, callsign Werner Kresser undocked from Leeds and after saying he was peaceful, proceeded to fly into Planet Leeds.

Afterwards, a Freelancer callsign April Cain undocked from Leeds in a Kusari Explorer. After Questioning her presence, Lt Clarke and Ensign Folge escorted her out of Bretonia via Magellan. Then an AI cruiser callsign Variable undocked from Leeds, and said he recieved permission to be in Bretonia from an Admiral Hunter of the BAF. The HMS Royal Sovereign confirmed this and he went on his way.

Briefly a unknown contact was spotted in Leeds, flying a strange glowing blue ship. Unfortunatley, guncam images couldn't pick him up. Afterwards, we recieved an urgent message from the HMS Dagobaz in Cambridge. Apparently an enemy named NECROSIS was in Cambridge and we recieved the order to evacuate Cambridge of traffic. Quickly making my way to the Cambridge jump gate in New London. Myself and Lt Clarke recieved orders to stay put. We then recieved orders to enter Cambridge and sweep the system. I proceeded to Cardiff Mining Facility and from then on to the Battleship Norfolk, where I recieved intel that the NECROSIS was nearing the Omega 5 Jumphole, to which I made all haste towards.

We then recieved intel that NECROSIS was retreating and that we were to disengage and return to the Norfolk. I proceeded onto Planet Cambridge where an Artifact Smuggler, callsign December was, Cdr Clay got him to drop his cargo. Lt Clarke issued a 5 million SC fine. To which said smuggler claimed he couldn't pay. So we arrested him and destroyed his ship. Lt Clarke proceeded to take him to BPA Newgate.

I returned to the Norfolk and signed off.

G'day Ladies and Gentlemen, members of the Admirality
As you all know by now, the Dagobaz was in quite some danger today in Cambridge. I have nothing to add to what Commodore Clay already said. By the way congratulations to him for that rank *smiles*.
I was using my engines on 120% all the time, rushing through the sytem. They are pretty overheated now and need to be checked after. Thus don't expect my Templar in space anytimes soon.
This is just a notification of my presence during the Admirals dark hour. *smiles and leaves the rest to the imagination*

I took off from the Essex intending to do a patrol of the Cambridge system, however I noted several officers in the Leeds system. Joining them, we fought off several Kusari fighter raids, a Samura convoy and informed an Interspace trader of the law regarding the Planet Leeds->Stokes Mining Station trade lane.
