This report is about an a battle that took place in New Holland two days ago.
The Corsairs appeared on the docking ring side of Planet Sydney with two Murmillo-class, the Kalamata and the Bahama, and an overwhelming and uncounted number of snubcraft. Our fleet initially had one battlecruiser and three fighters at disposal, but timely reinforcements from Dublin brought four more battlecruisers and one fighter. Our battlecruisers were the Fascinating, the Mordred, the Howe, the Crumpets and the Queenbean. Before the battle started, one of our fighters quickly went back in the direction of the Stirling and docked, I do not know if due to a malfunction of equipment, or bravery. Assuming the numerous enemy fighters would not waste their potential on our three fighters, but attack our battlecruisers, I, at the helm of the Fascinating, led her and three other battlecruisers on the enemy battleships, leaving the Crumpets to cover the fighters. However, the Corsair fighters did not attack our battlecruisers and attacked our fighters instead, which allowed our battlecruisers to defeat the enemy battleships even more easily. The Kalamata was disabled fast, and after that the Mordred attempted a ship-to-ship duel with the Bahama. Nevertheless, the Corsair crew seemed to have been experienced and the Mordred could not even drop their shield. I replaced them with the Fascinating instead. I did not send the Mordred and other battlecruisers to help our fighters because a Coalition gunboat, the Matochkin, came to help them. The Fascinating was able to drop the Bahama's shield, but we managed to prevail only at a great cost to ourselves. We have lost much of the rear ablative armour and 13 of our brave crewmen who remained to manage the engine chamber despite the enemy shots overheating it, and they must have died in infernal agony. After the chamber had cooled down, we discovered their bodies, which looked like some sort of a morbid Corsair delicacy. They received a proper funeral and I will submit a list with their names, so they can be declared heroes.
Our light wing did not hold so well. Although they did manage to inflict some losses to the Corsairs, they themselves were shot down, all of them. The Matochkin was armed with Cerberus turrets and was not of much help. I did, though, expect them to prevail over the two remaining Corsair fighters, but that did not happen. The Corsairs did disable the ship, but after that they withdrew, having no chance against our remaining fleet. The Fascinating rescued the Coalition survivors and shuttled them to the Coalition part of Planet Sydney. They should be alive and well.
Once again, I appeal that the Stirling fleet is strengthened and the flagship replaced. We were only able to defeat the enemy thanks to the reinforcements from Bretonia Proper, and the Stirling is almost falling apart even without enemy effort.
