Memo:

To All Flag Officers

Minister of Defence James Ralston

RE : Rules of Engagement, Federalist Vessels

Message Begins

All Flag Officers are to immediately advise their subordinates of the following Rules of Engagement Policy regarding the Federalists (FED)

1. Any FED-tagged vessel caught pirating in Bretonian space shall be destroyed. There will be no tolerance for interference with Bretonian trade.

2. Any FED-tagged vessel caught smuggling in Bretonian space shall be required to drop cargo. Refusal to comply within 30 seconds, or any attempt to escape, shall be met with extreme prejudice. Destroy the non-complying vessel.

3. Any FED-tagged vessel believed to be possibly trading with Kusari, moving materiel into the Tau systems, shall be monitored on long range scans. FED-tagged vessels shall be permitted to trade with Freeports, but they shall be monitored. Any entrance into Kusari space shall be deemed evidence of treason, and shall be reported here. Trading with FP6 in Tau 29 is specifically permitted, but Tau 29 can only be monitored by Privateers, or perhaps available Mercenaries. Regular BAF forces are not to enter Tau 29.

I might add that the reasons for this policy are as much political as military. Officers must understand the sensitive implications of engaging the Federalists, and must err on the side of leniency.

Message Ends.

Eh, lads? I just came back from getting jumped by no less than four commandeered Bounty Hunter gunships in Cambridge. They dared open fire on BAF personnel! We can't allow that to slide, now can we? Get the defense measures up in the air, and I'll be sure to help and teach these unjolly zipperlovers some manners.

Hopkins out.

I mst make this short, chaps, so here it goes.

After we finished our sweep in Cambridge, we returned to New London. As we exited the tradelane, ComScan picked up a Gaian, one "Pink Gecko" about ten kilometers out. We powered up the thruster and went to investigate, and the Gaian started insulting us with remarks about my personal girth! We removed the shields with little difficulty, but the craft had a much better thruster than did we, so it got away. I can take some gratification from the pilot's threats to destroy this ship...I retaliated with a slash of "So...you want to send several thousand tons of H-Fuel into the atmosphere, do you?"

Ah, I must run. Time for my cuppa.

We had a 'little' invasion attempt by OPG and benitez with a couple indie gunboats, two BPA officers C.Heydon and Stan Ewing along with a newly built Gunboat Cobra to intercept 2 gunboats, 3 bombers and a VHF.

the engagement started shortly after jumping to cambridge, they were slightly unaware at first, but soon moved raggidlly towards us, Stan.Ewing had moved to scout, and the bombers were engaging him, the two gunboats engaged me Heydon and Cobra, unfortunately it did not start well, the combined fire on Cobra was enough to destroy him, but not long after we were able to bring down the first Gunboat and began work on the second, unfortunately again, the other officer Stan Ewing was begining to take heavy damage to hostile fire, after he had fallen the fighter and bombers moved to assist their gunboat. after much work and luck of the gunboat, we were able to bring it down.

Then we moved on to the VHF, I forget his name, but he was not horribly strong and began to take heavy razor damage and the odd mine, even after bott feeding from his friends, we were able to bring him to within an hair of his ships destruction, he engaged cruise several times and despite his ship clearly on fire, he was able to escape. then, moving on to a bomber we began our work with gusto, refusing to joust it worked perfectly and it soon began to take hull damage, like his friend he unsuprisingly ran to a trade lane and engaged before we were able to halt it, with heavy hull damage he wont be pirating for a while.

leaving two targets to dispach, we continued the engagement the bomber we targeted started to see his luck was failing, and with the late arrival of a Molly Gunboat, he fled.

The last bomber was having technical trouble and with unpredictable movements was able to flee also.

all in all a successful engagement, two gunboats blown to hell, and heavily damaged corsair fighters and bombers, with a safe cambridge thrown in to boot. jobs a good'n!

Greetings Bretonian Armed Forces. I am Kathryn, AI in control of the ship of Hoshinokatana. I am working for the Golden Chrysanthemums, and after small discussion with some of your people, I request communication in person of a high ranking member of the Bretonian Armed Forces.

This is in regards to the possible usage of a Bretonian Battleship Class vessel. I understand this is a big undertaking and I am prepared to demonstrate my intentions are true, and I can be trusted with being installed in such a vessel. I would prefer to communicate my intended uses of this vessel in more detail with a high ranking member.

You can contact me via replying to this transmission to Morioka station where I am currently based (Forums) or direct communication with me. (Forum or Game PM).

Yours, Kathryn.

RE: Combat Report

I undocked from Southampton shipyards earlier after receiving minor repairs from that last major Corsair incursion into our space. Immediately after undocking, I receive word from Lieutenant Redmond that there are KNF forces in Leeds.

Obviously, this takes precedence over all other concerns, and I immediately reported to the Leeds system and rendezvoused with Lt. Redmond. We didn't have to wait long for the yellow devils to arrive. Turns out that there were two of them, one Gunboat and one Fighter.

Both ships focused all their firepower on the Sov, and were starting to inflict damage on us when a Mandalorian arrived to assist. Shortly afterward, I managed to land a couple of missiles on the fighter and took it out of the fight in spectular fashion. All that left was the Gunboat. The other two fighters managed to distract it into moving off my tail and I managed to get my cerbs on it, and between the three of us, we forced the cowardly animal to tuck tail and run back to Kusari.

Lt. Redmond paid the Mandalorian for his service, and I returned to Stokes Mining Station for some much needed repairs. I will remain in Leeds to ward off any further incursions.

Commander Lord George Mountbatten out.

[Source: Lt. Commander Stanley Nelson, HMS-Vanguard]

Today whilst flying my Challanger in the Leeds system, I encountered a CR transport attempting to cross the system in defiance of our numerous warnings. I engaged and destroyed the vessel in compliance with BAF directives regarding the CR. Immediately following this I proceeded aboard the HMS-Vanguard into Tau on an escort mission, where I encountered another CR vessel, making threats against Bretonia, denouncing my destruction of their transport. Not wishing to engage so far from home I returned immediately to the Leeds system, only to discover a huge fleet of the Colonial Remnant massing in Tau 31. Correctly guessing that they were planning a revenge strike against Bretonia, I quickly gathered all available forces in Leeds. Unfortately these only consisted of BAF Enisgn Kicon.Kijin, and a brave freelancer by the name of komet.Guardian, both in fighters. Realising the hopelesness of our position I contacted the GC on a secure chanel and requested their assistance, which they kindly offered.
A CR scout soon arrived in Leeds, forcing us to engage before the GC could assist. We were close to destroying it when suddenly the entire CR Fleet arrived through the Leeds Gate and fell upon us, led by their flagship, the Battlestar Rubicon. Hopelessly outgunned and with the Vanguard taking serious damage I ordered a retreat back towards Planet Leeds, in an attempt to delay their forces enough for the GC to arrive. The freelancer was destroyed, bravely fighting to buy us time to escape, and I made it back to Stokes, where I managed to fight off the CR vessel pursuing me. Having given us a bloody-nose, the CR fell back to Tau 31, presumably assuming that we were utterly beaten. By this point, however, we were greatly reinforced by the arrival of Ensign Evyn.Hunter, the HMS-Nestor, the long awaited Matsumado and Watanabe of the GC and the GC cruiser Hoshinokatana. With the Vanguard docking at Southampton for repairs, all other forces proceeded to Holman, where they found the CR fleet of 7 vessels, including the Rubicon, and an 8th IMG ship sitting unprepared. In a great struggle our forces prevailed, losing the Nestor and GC Matsumado, but sucessfully destroying all but one of the CR vessels, including the Rubicon itself. The two Ensigns both deserve commendations for their brave actions, and we are indebted to all our allies for their timely assistance. I hope this great victory marks the start of our final triumph over the CR menace.

The day was not content with throwing us just one obstacle. Several hours after the Colonial attack on Leeds, several SCRA, Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army, ships appeared near Planet Leeds. After an interrogative and perhaps a bit of a push on my part in an attempt to send them elsewhere so we would not have to deal with them, they stopped at Planet Leeds.. And my use of the word 'we' is not wholly accurate. In essence, it was I and the Destroyer, Repulse, captained by John Redmond unless I'm mistaken. The Repulse was currently stationed elsewhere when the terrorists finally began the attack. But Lieutenant Redmond came in his fighter quickly, as did Drake Kaiden.
I was rather disappointed after all the hype coming from my two companions over the supposed fighting competence of our opponents, to see the Coalitions die off rather quickly. The first to go, a Taiiden Bomber piloted by Gabriel Mao.
The second, yet another Taiiden bomber, this one piloted by Jason Roberts.
The third, Ares, flying a Raven Talon.

The fourth, Ariel Stirrov I believe, also fell. John Redmond destroyed her with his Templar, but at a cost. I'm ashamed to admit I was so surprised and bewildered I forgot to capture it on film. It seems Lieutenant Redmond locked his Templar into a suicide course, armed his bay of Nuclear Mines, and ejected.. His ship then slamming into the unprepared Ariel Stirrov flying her Viper, demolishing both ships in the process. His pod was recovered and he was transferred down to Leed's surface.

Oh, and before I forget to add it to this report;
The federalists decided to pay us a visit in New London, and later Leeds before this whole Coalition thing happened. But I believe they found us a bit too... Well versed for their comfort. They left eventually. There will be some lines of that conversation that'll never fail to bring a smile of humor to my face when I think of them. I'm proud to admit I look forward to the next encounter. They give me lots of oppertunities to enjoy myself with nothing more than words and their incomprehension.

Ensign Hunter out.
