Fleet Admiral Percy Nelles' hands were shaking as he signed the general orders. It had been a close scrape.

Treachery!! During an honour guard procession of the HMS Pendragon, moving to New London to bring the Treaty of Dublin to its ratification by Parliament, a rogue Molly fleet had intercepted the Pendragon and downed some of her escorts. Only the arrival of the Vancouver had saved the day, and perhaps saved the flagship Pendragon herself.

But the treaty was safe now! That's what was important. Soon the flagship would proceed to New London again, and everything would go as planned.

Fleet Admiral Nelles rose, left the bridge, and entered the anteroom where the treaty had been stored for safekeeping, and went to the glass case where the humidity was kept at the optimal level for document preservation.

The smashed and empty glass case.

The Fleet Admiral paled. He sat with his head in his hands.

How?!?

The Barghest re-appeared in real time and space on the Dublin side of the Jumphole. It paused to reboot systems, then fired up the cruise drive, heading for Arranmore.

James Donnelly (AKA Lieutenant James Prentice of the Bretonian Armed Forces, but no longer) smiled at the documents beside him, then hailed the Molly base.

"Tell the Councilors I have something for them."

Arranmore control responded, with transponder codes, and curiosity about the "something".

James laughed. "Don't know mate. Looks like kindling to me."

General Order № 41612

Following an extensive upgrade of our communication arrays, our ships gained the ability of a quick and efficient group linking. Use the attached field manual to make yourself familiar with the new system available. It surpasses the old one in many ways.

The new functionality can be accessed by a simple command:
/fi BAF|

All pilots are encouraged to use the new system.

Greetings sir,

A corsair by the name of Sawyer Kreth attempted to invade today, appraoching New London in a Titan.

I quickly engaged, and my superior armor is what saved me, as he was destroyed shortly afterwards.

Greetings.
My name is Davik Hujuk and I have a proposition for you and the collective Armed forces of Bretonia.
The Estate is my personal property and influence, now extending out into the vastness of space. I have built a rather large financial empire mainly based in Liberty but I see that there is far more to be gained in space than on land.
Thus, following advise from various consultants, I came to the conclusion that the setting up of a staging point from whence all trading etc endevours can be orientated from would be the most beneficial. However it would have to be in a system that is somewhat less populated than the core systems of the various Houses.
I have always had a fondness for Bretonia, being born on Leeds itself. While time has changed me, I still hold the strength of will and intelligence that only Bretonia can embue in it's citizens. This has led me to my success and thus I am eternally grateful to Bretonia and wish to repay the great nation however I can.
This led me to consider various systems connected to Bretonia but myself and my consultants could not find a system that was both financially advantagous and safe from harm apart from a single one.
Orkney.
I wish to establish a trading base in the system to be used as a rallying point for the Estate's various trading compenents and also to help centralise our protection. We employ various mercenaries to guard our transports but lack a hub for them to come from.

In this, I ask that the Estate be officially recognised as having influence in the system of Orkney and be permitted to uphold the laws of Bretonia in the system whilst also using the system to further the interests of the Estate. I can offer monetary inducements for this in various forms.*
In relation to the war with Kusari, I believe more secure communications would be best for any discussions.

I thank you for your patience in reading this rather long message and hope to hear from you soon.

Davik Hujuk

//OOC wise. The Estate is what you might call a megacorporation except it is headed by one man. He owns a substantial amount of land and wealth on various planets in Liberty and is involved in various business' throughout Sirius. What I am asking for is for the Estate's traders and mercenary escorts to be allowed to use Orkney as a form of 'home' system. All Bretonian laws will be upheld and enforced of course. We will officially stay neutral in the war against Kusari but will help fund the Bretonian war effort. In relation to the monetary inducements, I can offer various sums of credits.
One way to look at this is to see it as a privateer endevour almost. We will uphold the Bretonian laws in return for official recognition of our influence in the system.

Any problems you have with it etc, please do say.
Thanks.

Its why at 1900 Sirius time i ordered my crew to enter the coordinate of Arranmore base for a power strike.......The goal destroy the defence turret of Arranmore, unfortunatly we did not manage to completly destroy the defence, but we do a lot damage as you can see in these scan:

Dear Mr Davik Hujuk

It is with regret that I inform you that Her Majesty's Government is unable to entertain your offer, for the following reasons:

1) The Crown and Armed Forces of Bretonia are unable to ensure your protection in the Orkney System. Our Armed Forces simply do not garrison it. While the Crown desires claim to the system, it is currently not a priority to enforce our Sovereignty there. Not only are the Kusari a nearby threat, but the Gaian insurgency maintains a base in the nearby Lewis system.

2) You have indicated a desire to maintain neutrality with Kusari. We cannot offer even leasehold status of a planetary system to a corporation that may permit enemy entry to that territory. (Were that we had protected Sovereignty to provide such status)

Having said the above, you are certainly welcome to use Orkney for any legal purpose you desire, provided you provide no safe harbor nor co-operation with Her Majesty's enemies. You must realize, however, that the Crown has not the resources to ensure your safety therein, for the reasons abovementioned.

Consequently, we cannot accept payment for a level of protection we are unable to routinely provide.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reply at your convenience. I remain

Yours Truly

James Ralston, Minister of Defense

Personnal notes:The ensign Vignesh show great skills in this mission,we all know diplomatic case are often intercepted by the ennemy, and the pilot who carry it need to be discrets and always be ready for action. The ensign Vignesh, all is way long from Bretonia to Liberty, constantly make report to the Brittania like a real proffesionnal.

Good recruit we got there

My apologies Admiral, I may not have been clear in my message.
The Bretonian Armed Forces will not be required to provide any form of aide or assistance. The Estate can provide it's own protection and I often prefer it that way anyway, means that there are no dangerous clash of orders.

I had offered however, to uphold the laws of Bretonia within the system. This also includes refusing the Kusari forces entry to the system. Whilst we will not openly wage war against them, we will ensure that Orkney is kept secure and that no Kusari vessels endanger any Bretonian forces.

Thus it comes down a rather simple proposition.
The Estate will uphold Bretonian law in Orkney and will ensure the safety of all Bretonians whilst in the system and will fight against any Kusari incursions. In return, the Estate requests that they be formally recognised as a dominating influence in the system and granted according respect.

Thank you for your patience.

- Davik Hujuk

// We will defend Orkney and ensure no Kusari ships come into the system. If they do, we will push them back out. Merely ask for official recognition in the system and for the respect/influence that goes with it.
Combat Report
Commander Aubrey Mainwaring

Sirs,

I am forced to go on extended convalescence after sustaining injuries in combat. Deuced doctors won't let me out of this blasted bed for two or three weeks!

The combat concerned was in the Edinburgh system, against the NLH. Admiral Percy Nelles and Ensign Tobias Clark were in Templars and I was in my Challenger. We were patrolling in Leeds when the Admiral spotted the NLH vessels, two fighters and a Gunboat, in Edinburgh and we moved to the jumpgate. On the way there, a small ion storm caught me and blasted me out of the system. Infuriating!

I landed, rebooted all my electronics and was able to charge back to the jumpgate. I arrived in Edinburgh too late, just as Tobias Clark's Templar was destroyed by [NLH]Red.Sunset. I raced to the fight and was able to assist the Admiral in destroying the Gunboat, the [NLH]Ebola. We were looking to get control of the fight when the Admiral's Mine launcher systems malfunctioned and his ship blew up. Strangely enough the exact same thing then happened to the [NLH]Red.Sunset!

[NLH]Ktayn managed to pick up most of the stray batteries and Nanobots, which gave him an advantage. He was also a skilled pilot and wore my shields down after a long fight.

In an earlier incident the three of us had destroyed the Corsair vessel =13th=HighGuard which had the temerity to enter New London! So, on balance, it was a successful patrol.
