Laser is an acronym that stands for Light Amplification by Simulated Emission of Radiation. Atoms or molecules of gases, liquids, crystals, or other materials are excited within a Laser cavity, elevating most of them to higher energy levels, while reflective surfaces in the cavity reflect energy and enable it to build up. Through a process called stimulated emission, photons with matching frequencies and phases are emitted into a directed Laser beam. Lasers are used in a wide variety of applications, including cutting metals, material heat treatment, welding, data transmission, medical treatment, scientific research, and holography
