I don't believe this is true, but skype crashes when I try to load messages that are older than a day so let me clarify that. That line was the
main reason I chose Cryer ID for Wisp - because it used to allow fun gameplay and some interesting roleplay opportunities. While it still continues to provide RP opportunities, gameplay was severely hindered. And there can't be much engaging in-game roleplay without gameplay.
Please understand this.
Our transport ships are still able to grind out the minimum day on the tracker by doing deliveries for forum RP projects however I believe over the months that Wisp had existed I believe I had an interesting roleplay interaction on a tradeship... twice? Maybe not even that. Many more times we received and delivered more interesting interactions while patrolling on our fighters. Again, please understand that logging to shoot Outcasts does not always result in shooting Outcasts. In fact, the majority of time it didn't. It resulted in fun RP interactions that we had with factions such as O'Rhu, IMG, Auxesia, ALG, indies and others.

I don't see how that is in any way harmful. There are many instances of official factions that do not follow what you said here, just to name a few:
- Outcasts aren't majorly religious fanatics, yet a faction pursuing that roleplay has been made official.
- Interspace Commerce aren't majorly traders, yet a faction pursuing that roleplay has been made official.
- Junkers aren't majorly pirates, yet a faction pursuing that roleplay has been made official.
- Zoners aren't majorly an organised shipping faction, yet a faction pursuing that roleplay has been made official.
And on and on it goes. I would actually argue that it's much better for the community and anyone that would desire to make a Cryer Pharmaceuticals faction in the future. Cryer is a broad church, according to it's infocard. Someone might be interested in a Cryer faction that does something else than Wisp. In fact, we even had one called Cryer Solutions which focused on trading and PoB supply, which died in about a month, quite possibly because of the fact that Cryer trading is not profitable.
Bottom line, encompassing the entire NPC faction with just one official faction is not very healthy, especially such a diverse faction as Cryer.
While Wisp itself specialises mostly in research of human-enhancement drugs and technologies, as well as microbiology, we also do absolutely archetypal Cryer stuff such as the constructions of various medical facilities (Project Sundew, Project Snowflake, Project New Life). And had Wisp actually gotten official, there would have been no problem with adapting the faction command structure to fit Cryer a bit more. I just figured that starting out a faction that already includes the Cryer CEO would be slightly powergame-y.

Except we couldn't because of the blanket bounty rules - which allow only official factions to post bounties, or get them sponsored by other allied factions. Unfortunately, all factions that Wisp has close ties to already have their own blanket bounties and they cannot sponsor another one.
Of course we could ask for an allied faction such as IMG, Core or Corsairs to add a Sirius-wide contract for Outcasts and then move the entirety of the Wisp Security Division to a Freelancer ID under a new tag, but I don't
really think that would be better than just returning that line to the Cryer ID.
(04-13-2016, 04:49 AM)aerelm Wrote: [ -> ]and as I've already pointed out to you, the concept of Wisp perfectly fits such a PMC but it would in no way imply Wisp represents Cryer as a faction in any form, and hence why it would not be a suitable official group representing Cryer NPC faction.
So what ideas would you have to adjust our roleplay to fit a Cryer faction and help us improve that are within the scope of bounty and server rules? If you have any, please do feel free to put them forward on PM or skype.
And additionally, what options do you think we have now? I would really like Wisp to get official because we have put a lot of work into this faction and our roleplay, so having it discarded after four months of continuous effort is genuinely discouraging from any larger projects.
