Palladium, a lustrous silvery-white metal, is widely used in a variety of industrial and consumer applications. It can be used as a catalyst in many chemical reactions such as Hydrocarbon cracking, and aids in the purification of hydrogen from gas mixtures. It is also used in the manufacture of ceramic capacitors, connector platings, and jewelry.
