While the CM-4 is based on the same technology as the rest of the CM series, it has been sufficiently improved to allow effective deployment against a wide array of modern ordnance. In addition, the CM-4's military grade anti-shock chassis ensures that this countermeasure survives the hardships of space combat for long enough to do it's duty: attracting hostile missiles and detonating them far away from their intended targets.
