It took a long time, but for such an important decission, Jinx took an express civilian transport to join the council in person at last. Hours of spaceflight without so much as a break, starving slightly and heavily on coffein she entered the room...

"at last, i make it here to look those that speak against me into the face.

I will present my case, allthough everything has been said allready, and the comfiles log has been presented. However, i will again put it into a chronological order and try to keep it as simple as possible as i tend to make talk things to appear complicated.

my very first sighting of the harbinger was a long time ago, when the persephone made one of the rare Cambridge institute runs to deliver nomad remains for the purpose of studying. There, in the very close distance, the sensors picked up a reading - it turned out to be the harbinger. anyway, sensors would have been useless as i was able to see the huge ship way before the sensors picked it up.
it is right, it was not aggressive, but was hiding behind planet cambridge and soon fled into the Keswick ice cloud, once it sensed the attention of the systems patrols on it. - there the track was lost, for a long time.

this is my first communication log of my first sighting of the harbinger. as you see, i seeked immediete council with those in charge. the communication encryption level was civilian, so everyone could have spoken up, that received it. and the SF aswell as the cambridge institude gave me enough reason to proceed with EXTREME caution. as you can see, there is a lot of uncertainty about that creature, but none the less, it is considered highly dangerous and to be cared for with extreme caution.

if someone would have known more about that creature, it would have been the time to speak up NOW. but sadly enough, i got no background information - and so had to assume that the creature in question was indeed dangerous and might have rallied bretheren around it. furthermore it appeared to be under some control of ... humans?

so when the next encounter in omicron delta happened and it flew very close to the freeport 11 commerce lanes. this was my background information. "the ship's occupant is unclear thus it has been declared a threat to the security of Bretonia and will be fired upon if found in Bretonian space." - would i leave it in peace if even those that were involved in its escape and study would open fire immedietly? - i don t think so.

soon after encountering the harbinger in cambridge - more nomads showed up. And it was said that the harbinger as being one of the most powerful beings in the nomad race, possessing at least one of those superoir brains that can control whole battlefleets, would rally more of his kind. a cruiser and fighters appeared. distress calls were send to the neighbours in all the hurry and the news i received were troubling - yet the help was quick and efficient.

did the shady know-it-all speak up to explain the nomad matter than? still he remained quite, letting others fight the war. freeport 11 was directly attacked by that cruiser and 2 fighters at that time. the Black squardon showed up to drive them away and they fled to kappa - and have not been seen ever after.

at that time, all delta, minor and even the corsairs were on constant alert about the nomads, as they do have an interest in delta aswell seeing that they have a depot stationed there.

when the harbinger turned up, of course everyone headed to the defense. battleship, cruisers, fighter escorts, thats a whole battlefleet. and so the harbinger floated near the freeports space. was i not to attack or call for the bounty hunters and mercenaries help? - hell, i was calling for ANY help at that time. offering a lot money for whoever would take it down.

and only well after the bounty was set upon the harbinger, the warning was given, too vague, too late! - and you really really expected to be heard at that time? - without giving any reason? after more than two allmost fatal nomad incidents? one including freeport 11 in particular and one destruction of the freeport 11 nomad satelite uplink? - - would YOU have stopped then?

here i will leave it to the council to judge. - and i vote for YES for a contract to protect delta from the nomads. i don t know if it shows up again - but if it does, we should be prepared.
"Thank you for joining us, Jinx. A pleasure to meet you at long last."

Malaclypse poured a glass of ice water and offerred it to the distinguished woman.

"We hope to hear from this Denelo Mori fellow regarding what he knows about this matter shortly. Until then, we are considering the matter of the Jupiter Guild's Council status. Please take a moment to review the proposed Motion on approving their full voting rights.

"brother Isaac, if you would please bring that motion officially before the Council, those of us here could vote; and then perhaps adjourn to dine and rest. Madam Jinx looks as if she could use a bit of both after her long journey.

"When sufficient of our "teleconferencing" members have voted, we can reconvene on this most serious Nomad matter."
As Malaclypse finishes speaking, clanking footsteps are head outside. The door slides open and in walks three men. Two are slightly behind the first, one holding a gun and the other holding an palm-sized, odd, sphere-shaped object, that looks almost as if it were made of many pentagons. The first man is instantly recognizable as being a Kusari native. Two sheathed Katanas are at his sides, and he is wearing a full-length brown cloak.

The man in the front speaks. "I apologize for my lateness. I am Denelo Mori. So I hear you wish to know more about the Harbinger and it's kin?"
"It is so good to finally see you face to face Denelo. I understand that you have reason to be paranoid...er... watch your back, but the weapons are not necessary here. I, personally, am quite interested in hearing more of Harbinger and its nature. I am sure I speak for everyone in this room."
"The guards? They aren't for me. They're for this." Denelo takes the sphere-like object from the guard. He nods, and the two guards leave the room.

"Now. Right to business." Denelo says as he begins walking around the table. "I was told only that you are finally taking some action to try to protect the citizens of Freeport 11, and would like some information to help you. Could you please tell me what, exactly, it is you need to know?"

Denelo continues pacing and waits for a response.
Jinx peers at the object as she speaks up:

"the foremost question is - what is that thing? and what does it do? - and have you informed the order about that item?"
Denelo stops pacing. "What it is? Simple. A Data Core. It is designed to hold and project data. Legion designed. I'm not surprised you didn't recognize it. We rarely use them outside Vespucci."

Denelo turned, speaking directly to Jinx. "I apologize for my somewhat-cryptic warnings, however, I knew even less about it at the time then I do now. It's part of an ongoing investigation. Top secret, of course, and we will have problems if you ever mention it outside of this room, or in front of anyone else at all. So please do not."

"Meanwhile, would you mind if I had a seat? I suspect that this will take some time."
Malaclypse sniffed and shook his head. "Well, sir, you are certainly right about this taking some time, if you insist on being so brief and cryptic in your statemens to this Council.

"We would appreciate it you state what you know, rather than threatening us with some vague need for confidetiality about your so-called "infomation".

"As to the "data core"... does it speak, dance, make coffee? Dis, please be a dear globe and inspect this device. Maybe you can get more out of it than we're getting out of this Denelo fellow.

"Mr. Mori, I requre that you allow my F-unit, Discordia, to interface with your data core and access its information. Perhaps it will be more forthcoming as to the nature of your valuable information than you have been so far."
Denelo raised his eyebrows at Malaclypse. "Excuse me, but I do not believe I have done anything that calls for such rudeness. As for information, you have yet to ask me anything what-so-ever. I have no clue of what kind of information you want. Do you want general information, or more specific? Do you want to know about Nomads, or those similar to Taurvi?"

Denelo picked up the Core. "And Discordia can examine it as much as much as... she, correct? wants. It will do no good however. Interfacing with it is pointless. The Legion uses a unique code to encrypt the files on these. I believe it would be far more efficient for me to just show you the information as the topics come up."

"Now, I'll assume you invited me to sit down, as you've decided to completely ignore my question." Denelo pulls an extra chair from the corner of the room and sits down in it next to his brother.

"Now can we please make some progress here? Will you actually tell me what you want to know?"
"you have my fullhearted understanding for your secrecy at that time. but you must also understand that with the information that was given to me, my choices were - one could say - limited.

however, we shall not dwell in an old argument of who acted rashly or inappropriatly. but should instead focus on what is now to do! - if there is a manace coming from the nomads, we must act - if there is not - and the whole case is more complicated, we must gather as much information as we can and initiate any steps that are needed to deal with the situation.

as for now, please proceed to explain, i m most anxious to hear as much as you can or are allowed to tell us."
