Quote:While I do not see the value in trying to work with creatures that are known to kill and enslave human beings, perhaps I lack the enlightenment that your faith brings.

I find myself in agreement with most of the Guild Delegate's erudite assessment. However, I'd like to suggest that "trying to work" with either the MA or the Keepers is a far cry from just leaving each other alone, which is all I have implied, or committed to.

A transcript of the chat with the Machine "Voice" can be made available if this Council should require it.

The TAZ Delegate looked around the room at the assembled holograms. He seemed hesitant to proceed...

As to my faith.. it depends on which "faith" you are referring to.. Discordianism, Ontological Anarchism, Kundalini, the I Ching, or simply the faith in our ability to extend the Zoner paradigm to include all the inhabitants of Sirius, to the extent possible.

*Nemesis, I suggest you make yourself available to this Council for possible censure proceedings.

*I spoke with Coalition pilot Alexi Karchov today in Omega 49. I have indicated that I will sponsor Captain Ares of the Coalition to address the Council concerning the incident in Omega 52.

*There seems to be a question as to why your ship, the Mobius, violated Coalition space; and then further as to why the Destroyer Nemesis joined forces with Corsair ships in retaliation for the Mobius' destruction...

*While you are a registered Zoner, sir, it sounds as if your fighter had no Zoner IFF. For that reason, I doubt the Delegates will be willing to speak in your defense concerning this incident; but a full discussion might clear the air a bit.

*I will copy this transmission to the SCRA's comms, in hopes Captain Ares will respond to present the Coalition's case.*

I have recently received communication from your representatives, and am able to confirm recent events. <Cough> Excuse me, I'm still in medical from a recent assault, but as we all know, no need for laziness.

Anyway, Mobius ventured into our space, and was given fair warning to leave by our pilots, who are under no obligation to do so, but do so out of a doctrine for mercy and education.

His fighter was destroyed, as was, unfortunately, to be expected. Omega-52 is strictly controlled for multiple reasons, including sovereignty, and of course, military intelligence purposes.

The pilot of the destroyed ship was then kicked out of our space and sent home, the SCRA not expecting him to hire a fleet of mercenaries consisting of Order renegades (with whom we are generally on good terms), Benitez corsairs and, of course, the Zoner Fearless class, 'Nemesis'.

I was forced to return to base, with my escorts, at the helm of la 'Havana', in order to defend our territory. A red alert was broadcasted, and the fleet engaged the invaders, inflicting a grievous defeat upon them, possibly one of our most successful engagements in recent times.

The acts of the so-called Zoners and Order, as well as the Corsairs, are seen as an act of blatant aggression, the Zoners and Order, being under flags of neutrality, committing war crimes in our opinions.

Analyse this information at your leisure, my doctor has to see me now.

Delegates, while we await the response of either the pilot of the Mobius or the Captain of the Nemesis, I suggest we file this incident under "lessons learned". It appears to this Pineal that both pilots may have a few things to learn about Zoner politics.

By the bye, Commodore o Jovem, congratulations on your promotion, and best wishes for a speedy recovery. I trust that any future reprisals by the Coalition will be limited to the "Zoners" in question. Cheers!
*Bouncing Off of Order and Corsair Sat Comms From Omicron lost*
Yeah i under stand but his ship was not Destroyed in omega 52 it was Destroyed in Omega 50 which is Zoner Territory you should have stoped in omega 52 when you chased him out but no you Contined why because you thought it was in your best Interest to kill a zoner in zoner space yes Mobius one is a zoner if you would have killed him in omega 52 i would not have come but you did not do so you followed him into Omega 50 and thats what Pushed my big shiny red button and yes i did call forth the Corsairs because they were sick of the process as well they don't like their traders being raided in omega 5 and yes i understood the consequences that you might not be able to Defend my actions but to let you know Mobius was killed 5K from the Omega 49 Jh in Omega 50 which should have told them to go back but no they kept shooting and that as i said Earlyer Pushed my BIG SHINY RED BUTTON and they for got to put that in their statement

The Commodore sends his thanks, and his assurances that retribution shall be limited to the Benitez family of the Corsairs.

His injuries do not appear to be life threatening, several broken ribs which have been easily set, as well as minor burns to his legs. Looking at the cybernetic replacement which takes the place of his left arm, I'm sure he has seen worse.

Oh, he mentioned something himself and Lieutenant Karchov's opinion of the apple pie in something called 'Sophie's' being tremendous. I'm not sure what he means, possible fever, but felt that I should let you know.

Thanks,

Gorodetsky

Interesting that a Zoner should act such a way. However this is not why I am here today.

I have relayed this transmission today to discuss certain rumours which have been going around. Whilst a specific Zoner cannot be found in person to attribute the rumour to, it is believe to have originated at Freeport 6. At this point I wish to assure you I am not here for retribution.

The rumour attacks our reputation, at least it does from our perspective. So, I am here to ensure the council the the droids we use, former Bretonian ones of BT designation, are not similar to the Harvesters in any way.

We hope that no-one so far has believed these rumours and that this official statement will be accepted.

Delegates, on another matter which seems to be brewing, I have ordered the [TAZ]Flagheap to Freeport 9 for picket duty. Disturbing reports have been received. Apparently there are bounty hunter vessels who have violated the "Safe Zone" around the Freeport.

The Flagheap is commanded by F-23 Shamus, the TAZ's "Avenging Angel". He will initiate no hostilities unles the 5K "no-fire" perimeter is violated; and then only to remove any offending vessels.

Any further inquiries on this matter may be directed to me over private comms.

Thank you.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Council of Zoners. I have just recieved a report that a Jupiter Guild Gunbout, by the moniker of 'Orcus', fired upon an SCRA Pilot without provication or warning. Now, until a few hours ago, I believed that the SCRA and the Council of Zoners were on terms of amiable neutrality. The SCRA pilot, having just destroyed a pilot of the Hellfire Legion in Omega 50, called for re-enforcements, and the duty flight scrambled. Commanders Weise and Baranov, along with Lieutenant Commander Mao, arrived to the aid of Lieutenant Commander Stirrov. The Orcus then fled to omega 49, where it was caught and destroyed above the planet. I have been told the crew survived, as they uttered some idle threats after their ship was finished burning up in the atmosphere.

The Coalition Garrison on Gran Canaria assures me that there was no damage to the populance through debris demage, and they are more than willing to offer assistance to anyone who may have been upset by the fighting in orbit.

I am curious as to why the Jupiter Guild pilot felt it was a good idea to engage the SCRA one jump away from Coalition space, and why they even felt the need at all. I certainly hope that relations between the SCRA and the Zoner Council are not adversely affected by this rash and foolish pilot. For the time being, the SCRA have been alerted that any and all Jupiter Guild ships are to be destroyed on sight, as they obviously feel they have something to prove.

By they way, Malaclypse, did I ever give you that case of Vodka I promised you? I really can't remember...

"isn t the orcus a train class trading vessel? - i can hardly believe that such a ship would open fire upon a military target. - that does not mean that i doubt your description but maybe it was rather a malfunction as such a vessel stands no chance even against a light opponent.

so to solve the matter, i daresay it ll need the jupiter guild to explain, as it is theirs to explain what happened. - so far we have your point of view and will need their point of view to achieve a mostly unbiased perspective in order to be able to consider what really happened.

of course we do hope that no important information was hidden from us that might help us to see the incident as a whole. so, let us wait for the JGs report. - as the alternative route leads through omega-47 and is much more dangerous and longer, keeping the coalitions agreement to allow civilian vessels pass their space is somewhat important, - not vital, but still a matter of significance.
