Isaac listens quietly until the woman finished speaking, then nodded and rose to his feet. "Well, one thing. Fuel and weapons I can understand and emphasize with, but diamonds? The diamonds being hauled to Kusari aren't being used for military weaponry, they don't even use laser weapons up there. They're pretty baubles, and likely used in mining machinery and such things, but certainly not weapons."
"Fine, keep your diamonds, but if you get robbed up their, don't go crying to me. I would much rather you sold those diamonds to the Crown."
Isaac smiles wryly, "Alas, there isn't a particularly large market for diamonds in Bretonian space." He looks around the room at the gathered members of the Zoner Council. "Does anyone else have anything to add or argue? I'm thinking we won't be able to convince her to condone deuterium hauls to Kusari, but at least we won't be harassed over a bunch of pretty rocks."

Countryman Anderson, please indicate the name of the Unioner offenders so we can either come to terms with them..or not.
Also I'd like to report for the Councils consideration an unfortunate incident which took place on our present base of operations Planet Gammu.
A group of ships identified as [M] who i presume to Mandalorean, savagely attacked and destroyed one of our ships while screaming on the open system comms "The Republic will fall"
...starting from the principle that [M] stands for Mandalorean Mercenaries and not Marauding Monarchists, i really don't see the why of this incursion into out space, the destruction of one of our ships and this bile against the Republic...

Has the Zoner open season begun, or I'm i missing something on the broader picture.

Vendhyan walks in and inhales deeply, the stale air seems unwelcoming. So far and exhausting was his recent journey. Upon his returning to sirus, navigation was set for Planet Gammu in order to dock and restock on supplies. The sight of death came upon him fast. Five Mandalorean Mercenaries circling a ZR ship. Unsure of what to do he watched [M] pilots screaming "bloody revenge" over the system comms systems. Revenge over this ZR ship having earlier attacked and heavily damaged one of their own. This ZR ship had a IMG tags with a Zoner ID, confusing indeed. Since this ZR did not appear to be a Zoner who would be allowed in the Zoners council Vendhyan docked and rested... Mercenaries do not attack Zoners out of boredom or to pirate, previous experiences with [M] tells Vendhyan it was nothing more than a honorable revenge kill.
Let me address the latter statement by Brother Vendhyan first. it would appear that Brother Sommerset was not apprised of the full facts regarding this incident near Gammu. if indeed the Mandalorians were merely seeking reprisal for an eariler attack by a ZR pilot on one of their own, then that puts an entirely different face on the matter. I would strongly suggest that Brother Sommerset conduct an internal investigation of this whole sequence of events before he further petitions this Council for any form of redress against the Mandalorian Mercenaries. Of course, these mercenaries will bear watching for any further Zoner-related incidents; but the Zoner Republic's pilot may have brought this upon himself. I suggest we table the matter for now, until Sommerset can afford us more data.

Now, Ms. Windsor. As you did not provide us your rank, I will address you as such.

I find it rather amusing that you would suggest the smuggling of drugs into Bretonia; but that is not really germane to the issue, is it..

The mere fact that our ships may carry deuterium does not make us sympathizers with your enemy, Kusari. Why, my own manifests often read Omicron Minor, Freeport 6, Pittsburgh, or even South Shields for delivery, depending upon where I am, what is needed back here in 49, or the whims of the market. Do your QCO pilots have some sort of psychic omniscience or sense of smell which tells them that a product has a questionable destination? I suppose if you are willing to provide escort to the end-user, then you can have some assurance. Otherwise, your assertions that we are somehow undermining Bretonia seem specious to me.

And, would you deprive your technicians and your shipbuilders of the excellent and cheap optronics which often are brought back from Honshu? To the Kusari, that might be construed as supporting "your" war effort; yet they do not threaten to "blow us to hell", as you so charmingly put it.

Likewise, I can not think of a single market in Kusari that will pay beans for light arms. They are simply not used against you by a pilot in a Chimaera or a Kusari Bomber. I would venture that 99.9% of traffic in light arms goes right here to Lanzarote to those bloody Bounty Hunters. What they do with all the bloody things is a mystery to me, but they pay on delivery, which is all I care about.

I am further troubled by the fact that you and your "Uncle", whoever he is, may not be on the same page with the SF on this issue. While the Council appreciates your input, albeit we are not fond of veiled ultimatums and threats, I recommend that we also seek and consider the SF's position.

Regarding the [M] incident with my people, the matter is far more complex and complicated...it involves mistrust, insults, destruction of ships and monetary blackmail to keep silence.
We won't drag the Council into this, we'll sort this mess out ourselves.

We can also say this, since it is an open channel, some of our Citizens have shady pasts and some are even defectors from House military, most are distrustful and suspicious of bounty hunters and wonder..."is this one here for me". Now while we are suspicious of them we don't exactly follow them and shoot them were they stand without a reason...
We are reasonable people, if someone has been offended (or thinks he's been offended) seek us out, we can discuss the matter and find a dignified solution for both parties.
What they shouldn't do, is, based on a case with shallow foundations send an execution squad of 5 against 1, without asking a why and what. And on top of that, cry for the "fall of the Republic" the ideology of the Republic is what makes our group, we will not take those words lightly.

Now regarding Bretonia space, i agree, the SF should be called to clear the situation... the amount of quasi-legal armed ships in Bretonia is to say the least alarming. Who actually has the authority there?

Malaclypse stood, and gazed stonily at the assembled delegates.

"Gentlemen, I have been asked by one of the TAZ members, Sophie Noir, to present a rather urgent question to this august body. And, I am prepared to remain here all night until I get some answers..

"Anyone have any good recipes for pies?"
Grandma's famous Cabbage Pie !

Some items might have to be smuggled or replaced with a synthetic replicate.

One large cabbage, around the size of Corsairs head will do.
Two tbs margarine (import from Liberty Space)
Three tbs grated Parmesan cheese (Liberty Space once again)
Four eggs (Kusari Farmers)
One onion, chopped. One tsp tomato paste (Kusari Farmers)
Salt and pepper, to taste. Oregano (I get my spices from the Outcasts, there is nothing those drug fiends will not smuggle.)

Now for the ever important mixing and baking steps.

Slice cabbage and cook until the color of a Nomad.
Drain well, stir together the rest of the ingredients and blend with the cabbage. Place into a buttered baking dish, Transports oil pan or anything handy. Sprinkle with more Parmesan and bake until a Blood Dragons knife can be inserted in the center and comes out clean.

Crazy Tasty Banzai Delicious!

I have spoken today with the pirate Skyelius in Sigma 13. While he lays the arrogance on a bit thick, he had some interesting points to make, primarily concerning "Faux Zoners", those traders who hide behind the banner of Zonerdom to escape pirating.

I made it abundantly clear that I speak only for the TAZ, but I have invited him to draft some remarks, and present them to the Council of Zoners for their consideration and deliberation, under my sponsorship.

Until such time as the Council has received and discussed Skyelius' petition and/or demands, I am directing the TAZ to stand down from active pursuit. In return he has agreed to stand down from pirating the trading vessels of the TAZ, the Zoner Republic [ZR], and Star Trading Corporation [STC].

I will be monitoring the Zoner Council frequencies, and will be available to act as Chair-protem, or to join the discussion concerning this matter.

I advise that all Zoner traders still remain cautious, and avail themselves of escorts; as this temporary stand-down is only regarding Skyelius. Other brigands may not feel bound nor even care.

Regards,
Malaclypse, for the TAZ

P.S. : More of a "cabbage quiche" then.. Sounds scrumptious! M.
Today doing one of my routes i was halted and demanded to pay 2 million credits by a NovaPG member Tatsuo, the screens i took speak for themselves:

It appear the NovaPG, or maybe just some of their member enjoy depriving the Kusari higher classes of their diamond necklaces and rings, i hope he enjoys being deprived of his mini razor or his VIII armor next time he visits a Freeport.

I have notified my fellow Citizens of this, and I'm now notifying the Council as well.
