mama dis,

does this mean we have to send every non-zoner back to dublin/47 if they seek trade with us, or should we discourage them to enter 49

Brother Archer, unless this Council votes otherwise, the Caveat "At your own risk" applies, sir.

I suggest everyone review the Zoner Registry, and if the vessel's name or Captain does not appear on that list, consider them as possible Coalition allies, or even spies.

If you have the time and inclination to escort these unknowns in and out of system, that is at your discretion.

I hereby call an Emergency Session of this Council to order. Let's call the roll and figure out what the Thud to do next, eh?

Had to borrow this system from a nearby Outcast, not sure if it'll work.

I'm available, hopefully. My Viper is ready to kill those bastards, as soon as the comm system is repaired. As usual, I was on Freeport 6 at the time. Further, I have placed an order for one of the new batches of Zoner Destroyers, with any luck it will be ready within the next few weeks.

I'd suggest calling any trustworthy mercenary you can find. The Coalition kills them on sight from what I've seen, so they're not going to be spying on us.

Don't expect any more messages from me until my own comms are fixed. Apparently, this Outcast is a bit touchy about the Lane Hacker systems on this thing...

Black out.

End of transmission.

Message: It seems to me SCRA moved on without a fight, I fail to see what more can be done aside from remaining vigilant. A number of pilots have moved to bolster the defence and more have agreed to send aid should problems arise, it seems best to wait and let SCRA make the next move.

That is all

I tend to agree, Brother Scott. It appears that the SCRA have accomplished their primary goal of withdrawing from Canaria, while putting the Zoner community in general on notice of what we can expect.

With the arrival of Sister Aurelia and the Ableben, I will be directing Shamus to bring the Flagheap back to Baffin, loaded with whatever TAZ personnel and assets remain on Canaria. One juggernaut should be sufficient to keep an eye peeled; and obviously, with the outpouring of support offers from our Brethren, any further SCRA incursions into 49 will be brief and bloody.

I will anticipate Sister Tate's usual hand-wringing, and caution the Council about inviting any Bounty Hunters or Mercs to join the party, at least for the present. I support Mama Dis' position on this, and invite Sister Elizabeth to correct me if I have assumed too much or spoken out of turn.

The SCRA's evacuation was a shock to all of us, but I trust we would have eventually reached consensus on their removal from Canaria anyway. They just saved us the trouble of long deliberation over their expulsion.

Now, it has been brought to our attention that there are also Corsair enclaves on Gran Canaria and Lanzarote. I believe we should also consider what our policy should be towards the various Corsair factions who might wish to get a shot off at any intruding SCRA ships under the guise of "supporting" us in our time of crisis.

Personally, I feel that giving them carte blanche in 49 could cause just as many repercussions for the future as would inviting the Bounty Hunters to aid us. If we cannot secure and defend Omega 49 through our own devices, then I contend we do not deserve to control it.

"no . no - we should not include the BHG into the calculation in times of peace at any rate. - only when people start dieing - it should rather be the enemy - or at least ... well.... payed allies, before zoners suffer. - and the BHG is so eager to take work in our interest - well, and theirs of course.

so as long as the "crisis" is under control - and as long as its only a "cold war" - by no means we should involve the BHG... only when things spin out of control and the last option - that is weaponfire - speaks up... we should consider to get elite BHGs into the front line.

personally - i feel much more comfy when i am in the second line and the BHG is in the first line. - money can be lost multiple times ( or spent ) - a life can only be spend one time - and then its rather theirs than mine.

besides, the BHG is quite experienced when it comes to warfare - a feature that i daresay some of our people is not too familiar with.

anyway - i think the corsair mandate still stands. - when the SCRA attacks 49 - the corsairs have to answer to the threat - thats why they are there in the first place.

at that time i hope that things simply cool down. - to pay the SCRA back for their violence while leaving, we might pull some strings to ensure that their future supplies will be a little - ... more expensive and harder to come by than they might have planned. - resources are not too easy to get in these parts - and i think we can play out some of our influence to make sure it becomes even harder for them - if they make more trouble. - that is a "war" that i personally prefer much more than weaponfire - and i am sure this is also a type of war that we can apply to them much better than to the nomads that are self suffienct.

I am greatly disturbed to hear the news of what happened at Gran Canaria and regret that I have not seen a sunset there since I moved to work at freeport 10.

I regret Freeport 10 cannot spare any military assets, but I will look into setting up a shipment of medical supplies as soon as possible.

I will keep an eye on this channel for updates and wish all the luck to those defending the planet and treating the wounded. I do however agree with Ms. Tate that if we can make use of the Bounty Hunter's Guild to solve our problem it should be done. Not only would it put our own people out of harms way, but would ensure protection in the future to any outpost of ours which the Hunters use.
Mannock read the last reports and begin to move his head... "Another war, cold, hot or warm, why the people dont use theirs heads in place of theirs guns. This matter was very easy to solve, they use ours bases and we can use their space... they and we win something. Now everybody loss, nobody wins... in a war the only winner is Death".

Slowly he begins to talk.

Sisters and Brothers Zoners,

when I leave the corsairs, stupid of me, I think that the wars were over for me. Today SCRA attacks us and we must answer it with ours securities and diplomatic forces. I hate to close a door, but too that others close the door in my face. In ancient Rome people said "In peace prepare for war", I prefer to say "In war prepare for peace".

We must had an open comms channel with SCRA, sorry Brother Mal, but you are the person for that work, to end this no very smart war. At the same time, we need a High Defence Command to joint ours war efforts. I must propose for our Commader in Chief to Master Yoda.

Now Im talking in the name of all Wanderers, we are at disposal of Mal and Yoda (or, any other person that take those positions) for end or win this war.

"This nosense must finish now, no more blood, no more pain".
Mal's jaw visibly dropped as he stared at the holo-image of Benitez.. he sputtered uncontrollably for a moment and then guffawed out loud until he was forced to gasp and hold his sides.

Brother Mannock, this is priceless!

My original willingness to have the Coalition evicted from Canaria, and to break off the TAZ's financial "ties" with them stemmed directly from the disturbing reports of attacks on you and your fellow Wanderers!

You, sir, were the one who convinced me that stronger measures might be necessary, yet now, you urge diplomatic overtures?

I have no intention of supporting a "war" with the Coalition. What I do intend is for the TAZ to survive and flourish, regardless of future events or what this Council might decide. And I intend to be prepared for any eventuality. Whether that can best be accomplished through diplomacy or a targeting computer is yet to be determined.

To: Mal (and all the Zoners)

Dear Mal and Sisters and Brothers,

its true that the casus belli for this war was a missunderstood between Commander Thorvaldson and me and that in my youth I was a Corsair (and its very obvious in which faction I was). They think that all Wanderers are spies, we gather information in all Sirius, true again, but we dont sell or give to others. Its in our interest for safe trade and dodge problems.

I try to contact with SCRA, but they never answer me. If I can make treaties with some of the most dangerous unlaful factions, why I can not achieve the same with another that have my simphaty with theirs goals but not with theirs methods.

If I wanted wars, I never leave my old home. I never asked for a war, only for a treaty with SCRA, reciprocity bases for space, that was useful to all Zoners. No Wanderer shoot a SCRA, ever we ask permission to enter when they were in Omega 52 before enter.

Their casus belli to begin this war have no base, no reason. You can see the records of my comms to this council.

I never say "mea culpa" now or in a future. But I must apologize because they used me for this war, I was no sufficient smart to see theirs targets, and for all the problems and blood that began to flow.

If its necessary to end this war that I must apologize and humilliated to them, I will made it. I continue thinking that its only a crude excuse to begin a war.
