*************************** MESSAGE BEGINS ********************************************

Humble Greetings,

I have been asked, by my Leader to assume the TAZ Delegate position, at this time. I am both humbled and honored that he has placed his faith in my abilities to serve in this capacity. Therefore, I shall accept the responsibility gladly, with the intent to represent my fellow TAZ members in the Council. My purpose made clear by act of a wisdom greater than my own, I can and shall obey wishes of my Patriarch, with an eye toward the Goddess and an ear poised to hear clearly so that my voice be a true reflection in the service of the council. I remain solid in my commitment to the those who have entrusted a simple primate with such faith.

May we all prosper!

Oops.

I forgot something, Delegates.

As my last official act as Chairglobe, I hereby open nominations and/or statements of intent for the postion of Chairperson, Council of Zoners.

Oh, and you won't be expected to hover in space like a Fnordette. There is actually a chair you can use.

Who's up for it? C'mon, ya namby-pamby primates.

au revoir,
Dis

How does that song go? "You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille, with four hungry kids and a bunch of hormonal Corsairs getting uppity because we're not paying them enough attention" well ok maybe not, but the point is that we are facing a possible heap of trouble if we don't elect the right person at this difficult time, someone who commands respect all across Sirius, someone with experience and gravitas so I would like to propose Elizabeth Tate to be the next Chairperson of the Zoner Council.

Furball Out.

RE: Nomination of Chair

*********************** MESSAGE BEGINS **********************************************

Honorable Council Members,

As my first act, as a fledgling member among your ranks, I would second the nomination of Ms. Tate to the Chair. Her leadership experience and long service to the Zoner Community as well as her tenacity and skill makes her, in my humble opinion, the obvious choice. Given the current state of affairs, I place my trust and my vote in Lady Tate.

I thank you for your consideration,

Kyte

"i am pleased that others think i can take up the position, but i am very afraid that there is so much to do that i can hardly keep up with it. - i suggest to nominate someone else.

preparations with the departure of the guild from fp11 and their "little project" that started some years ago come to a final end soon - and there is just too much to sort out before that.

furthermore, we re building an additional garden at freeport 11, which needs my whole attention. along with the upcoming refit of the old juggernaut classes.

for now, i d like to see someone stationed on gran canaria or freeport 9 to take up the spot of chairman, - this is much closer to "where everything happens".

E. Tate.

postscriptum: i will vote once more members show up that are suited to take the chair"

Well so be it, given her endeavours on behalf of the Zoners and others I can understand Madam Tate's reluctance to take the chair. So what now? we still need someone of stature and we need them pretty quick, I propose Aurelia Silvan for the position of Chair of the Zoner Council.
from: freeport 11
to: corinth station

"i second that vote, if ms silvan accepts. i see some ... interesting times ... upcoming. - the council might be needed to sort things out more than ever before so we do not succumb in chaos and disorder.

i will also breadcast a list of dedicated guardians and those that are flexible to move and assist guard duties in the near future. - this won t be a matter of control - but a matter of organization. - the recent tone between zoners and our "neighbours" has sometimes become a bit ... lets call it... impatient. - i feel that it might be needed to at least list up our standing and official protection of our installations - just to ensure that none of the installations is unprotected.

this might help with future assignments as well as it ll show us "weak spots" that require more protection, passive protection or simply political focus sometimes.

E. Tate"

Message reads:

If I can be of any service to the council please let me know. Me and my transport pilots work out of Freeport 11 and 9. We are constantly in and out of those stations. Not sure what a we could do at the moment, we are still trying to get operations up and running. I do not even have my escort wing organized yet. Still negotiating on fighters from the dealers. But we can defiantly be eyes and ears for the council when we are around the stations. I have managed to foster good relations with our more rowdy neighbors. Regular food deliveries have created, so far, a decent relationship.

Sincerely

[font=Palatino Linotype]Dear Sirs/Madams,

I have the pleasure to introduce a newly created faction, the Zoners Trading Consortium (]c[). We are a corporate, peacefully and diplomatically oriented faction, aiming at enabling effective and profitable trading platform for the Zoners Community -- and to increase it's financial and diplomatical influence in Sirius. We very strongly prefer using the diplomatical and commercial agreements instrumentary rather than the arguments of military power. Sofar we manage to succeed, gathering friends among different factions and establishing positive relations with the factions we meet.

We hope to become an official faction, the proposal has been posted here.

I hereby would like to announce ourselves and declare full readiness to cooperate, exchange information and mutual support. On behalf of the Zoners Trading Consortium I send you our salutations.

Kind regards,
dr Werner Mazursky

So Ms Silvan hasn't responded, neither has anyone else apart from Madam Tate, are there any Zoners left? Is there anybody out there?
Maybe everything is so hunky dory we don't need a Chair of Council, or even a Council at all.

Furball Out.
Comm ID: Mama Dis

Well, Furball, we should at least give Sister Aurelia the chance to respond, or for another well-known and respected Member to volunteer, before we throw the baboon out with the bathwater, eh?

My circuits are also a bit "de-tuned" at the deafening silence regarding such an important position. Perhaps you're right, sir, and the Council no longer serves a purpose.

What say you, Delegates.. should we just blow off elections for the Chair, and let the Council die a peaceful death?
